I have just spent 4 nights in this most appalling Hotel.
Work commitments caused me to book late, but having stayed in Travelodges before I wasn't too concerned and proximity to Havant was essential, again due to work commitments.
Unfortunately I was wrong in both my assumptions.
The Travelodge name appears to no longer be a guarantee of a reasonable, if basic standard. Also the hotel's apparent geographical proximity to Havant didn't allow for the appx 20 mile round trip to get to the other side of the carriageway.
Although the staff were as helpful as they could be, the standard of cleanliness in the room we were allocated was digraceful. From the bloodstained matress to the mould growing in the kettle the room was a disaster, the staff allocated us another room, but the improvement was minimal. The second room was dank and damp, with the seemingly ubiquitous mould appearing in the bathroom. My colleague commented that it was possible to dine well off the fungi growing in the bathroom....this would probably be preferable to eating at the exhorbitantly priced Litte Chef next door!!
One of the staff informed us that the site was up for sale and possibly this was one reason why the standards were so appalling. A reason perhaps, but certainly no excuse.
I was unable to secure another hotel for the rest of my stay so was forced to endure this purgatory, due to work I had contracted to do, but in the end I returned home a night early, foregoing a further work contract I was offered.
