“A weekend away.”

Very happy with this hotel. Easily accessible and good location for the Weald and Downland Museum nearby. Our offer included a cream tea with bubbly. We checked in late and the hotel swapped the cream tea for wine and bubbly with the meal no problem whatsoever :) Food very good, reasonably priced and wide menu selection if a little too traditionally English. Not sure about the singer when I wish to eat in peace, but good to see 'entertainment' on offer.

Rooms well appointed, good size and in good decorative order. (Could be improved by a door chain and spyhole). Only negative point is we were on ground floor, and ceiling joists are poorly insulated. Recommend asking for a room on the first floor.

Nice leisure facilities, although we didn't use them. I would say that spa treatments were expensive compared to a full spa with more extensive facilities. Overall, very pleased and would stay here again. Staff very friendly and helpful. (Housekeeping over keen at 0930 and 0945 in the morning. We weren't due to check out till 1200 !)

Room Tip: Request upstairs rooms to reduce noice. The floorboards creak terribly. :(

My family attended a dinner dance at this hotel on January 14th 2012. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. We had a great night. I would recomend this hotel for holding a special event or party....and very reasonably priced.

“Excellent once again”

Our second visit for an excellent Masonic Ladies Festival weekend. Dean (hotel manager) and his team did everything possible to ensure a very enjoyable experience. Nothing was too much trouble for any staff members who treated all with respect and courtesy. The food deserves a special mention as even better than last year.

One area for future attention though – some of the corridor areas, stairwells and guest rooms are starting to look tatty and would benefit from redecoration and refurbishment sooner rather than later!

That apart, nothing but praise to all and recommended once again.

“Absolutely Brilliant”

We spent Christmas 2011 here. Absolutely faultless!!! The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. The entire feel of the hotel was almost a home from home without the washing up! The food was amazing and in abundance. Having a jacuzzi on Christmas morning after breakfast and presents was definitely a good way to go. The children were thoroughly entertained with the games room and we joined in to, breaking world records on the kinect...lol. The other guest were friendly too and the Christmas spirit was very much present. Can't sing the praises of this hotel high enough and most definitely looking forward to spending Christmas 2012 there

“A wasted New Years Eve”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We had been to this hotel twice before, once on New Years Eve 2010. On that occasion we stayed 2 nights but this year we decided to just go for the event and stay the one night. last year the band was bad, we asked whether it was the same when we booked and the said not. The posters said that it wA a resident band. Not correct. They were awful and if I ever have the misfortune to see them again I will leave immediately.
This was new years eve and I don't think the band understood that people wanted to dance. After 3 slow soulful, jazzy numbers I asked politely if they wer going to play anything faster. Their response was to play the same music a little faster!
The final insult was when they had a break, everyone was on ten floor dancing to the taped music. That soon stopped when te band came back. They could not even play Auld Lang Syne.
The hotel did nothing about this and must take the blame. They should have offered a refund. We were a party of 10 and wild horses could not drag me back there.
Rooms okay and food excellent. They took the trouble to ask me what I wante as a vegetarian and their feta and spinach pancakes were very tasty.

Room Tip: Get 201, it is a suite at te same price as normal!
