The hotel itself was lovely, and the rooms more unique and 'boutique' than the norm.
My partner booked this as a mini getaway for our anniversary, it was a friendly and trendy hotel, with staff who were, on the whole, ever ready and willing to help.
There were a few glitches which hint at what others might have experienced (according to this website anyway), but as we went in the quiet season we didn't have any major problems that couldn't be rectified - we had booked a private hot tub (very worth it!) but this hadn't been arranged prior to our arrival so it was lucky they had a vacant one, we hadn't received email confirmation of our booking as promised and had to call ahead to check, and we hadn't been told that dinner would only be covered at £30 a head which, at the prices in the restaurant, would really not go very far, barely covering a shared starter and main course. However, those minor issues aside, we had a wonderful stay with absolutely top notch food, lovely unique rooms, gorgeously comfy beds, and very friendly (if seemingly slightly over-loaded) staff with a good local knowledge to assist on our jaunt into town to the Festival Theatre. Will definitely be visiting again"
