“Excellent stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I booked a Friday evening, and had, by prior agreement, arranged to leave my car in the car park during the day. Arriving even earlier than expected due to a lack of rush hour traffic, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had been upgraded, at no extra cost, to the double room with en-suite. The room had it's own front door and car parking alongside. In addition I was offered a cup of tea and biscuits and was able to use the room, which had the radiators already on, prior to attending an event at Fontwell racecouse later that day. In the morning I chose a very tasty full English breafast before departing. Vicky and Mike were very welcoming hosts and I have no hesitation in recommending Woodacre B & B to visitors to Fontwell.

“No cosy country feel to this B and B”

Stayed at Woodacre for three nights, very good price as there was a winter offer of three nights for the price of two. Breakfast was very good, plenty of cereals from which to choose and a substantial cooked full English. The double en-suite was clean but very cold on our arrival. The décor was drab and jaded. The bed was in poor condition being supported underneath by what appeared to be a small stool. The mattress was very uncomfortable and noise from the water tank housed in a cupboard in this room resulted in three very poor nights sleep. The en suite shower room was cold and drab and smelt unpleasantly damp. The proprietors were pleasant and friendly and very obliging but overall I would not recommend this B and B to my family and friends

Thank you for taking the trouble to review your stay at Woodacre. We are extremely sorry that you were not 100% satisfied and offer our apologies. We were unaware that a previous guest had broken the bed and supported it on the bedside stool. This was actually repaired earlier this year. The room is being closed at the end of April for a full refurbishment and new bathroom. The bathroom will have underfloor heating in addition to central heating which will enable us to maintain the temperature all year round.

“A lovely country retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

Stayed here for a week-end in July. It is run by a lovely couple who are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The room was en-suite with it's own entrance and you can park right outside the door - not that we need to do that - but it is good to know for the less mobile - with very easy access into the room.

In fact, you could park about 40 cars outside as the front drive is enormous
The garden is huge and you are welcome to sit out there which was delightful.

Bathroom was large and it is worth mentioning two good points about the room - the shower is excellent and there are loads of drawers and places to put clothes etc.

Those details are seldom mentioned in hotel adverts - but good storage space and a good shower make all the difference - especially to my wife who uses it as a benchmark of a good B and B - together with a good hairdryer - this place had it all!

The other measure for us is the breakfast - top marks here as well. Really nice breakfast - with choices - and lovely coffee - and a good host who keeps checking whether you want anything else - there wasn't anything else we could have wanted it was so nice - but it's good to be asked.

We have stayed in a lot of bed and breakfast places over the years and this one is definitely up there with the very best of them. Highly recommended.

“An Excellent Well Priced B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

Stayed here for 3 weeks in February whilst working in the area and made to feel very welcome by Vicki and Mike. House has a lovely large rear garden and lawn which some rooms open out onto and plenty of parking to the front. Situated just off the A27, which is convenient for Bognor, Arundel & Chichester. Contractor friendly as long as your decent and sometimes willing to strike a bit of a deal if long term. Nearest pub is in walking distance (about 900m) and another in the village below (about 1500m). Would highly recommend!
