We booked at the very last minute for New Years Eve and had such a lovey stay and a great time.
We arrived at 3 and booked in to be told that tea, coffee and cake was being served in the lounge. In front of a lovely real open fire, pure bliss.
Every single member of staff in this hotel was so friendly and made us feel at home.
The food at the dinner was superb and every item was piping hot . The room was decorated and looked lovely. We even had a glass of bubbly to welcome in the new year and every member of staff came round and said happy new year. The disco after the meal was good fun and every one was having such a good time.
Our room was fine and the bed was comfy. All in all a place to relax and unwind and forget about the world outside.

Stayed for a second time in December. We had a room in the annex. Plenty of free parking, centrally located for access to the town. An ample breakfast to set you up for the day. Comments about it being dated - it's a coaching inn with origins in the 17th century and therefore does have charm. Can't be beaten for location and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

We had what was described as a cosy room, which it was, however the room was a little tired and the carpet had a few stains on it. The bathroom was spacious but the place on the wall where the shower head goes was very dirty. Breakfast was included but had we not stayed the night the breakfast would have cost a whooping £13.95. We were very impressed with the staff. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is in a central position in town and has an interesting history. Would stay again.

Apart from taking 240 Pounds from my card, after previously having paid in advance, a good check in experience, it was all downhill from there on in, or should I say, uphill. We were assigned a room on the top floor, room 16, mind your head as you enter, should you be elderly or have difficulty breathing, you may need to take your own oxygen bottle with you, you will need it when you get there.
The young man who checked us in was kind enough to assist with our baggage, a good job too as it would have been difficult carrying luggage up all those stairs. As for the room itself, basic and of a poor standard, whole hotel needs to be gutted. The net curtains had a hole in it and the bathroom, yuck, bath badly stained and needs a good scrub, see photo, shower leaks. Breakfast was of a good standard but looked a little lost on the plate. Hotel was in a central location in Arundel and close to the castle, no free WiFi, should be standard these days. All in all, a disappointing experience, would I stay there again, NO.
