If I have plenty of notice I will often choose a travelodge in preference to a standard hotel as £19/£29 a night for a room is excellent value for money. On this occasion we managed to take advantage of their £15 a night room promotion.

Our room was clean and even though it was the road side we were not troubled by traffic, as some appear to have been when this was an Innkeepers lodge. It was still very fresh, and not tired as some Travelodges can be, e,g, Donington Park on the M1. It was also spacious and not cramped. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we did not need to trouble them.

The Vintage Inn next door provided excellant food and good value for money, and because we joined their Facebook page before we went, we got a free bottle of wine with our meal.

At £15 a night this was an obvious bargan, but I would still be happy to pay full price, £49 a night, to stay here.

Comfortable, very clean & tidy with a pub next door with great atmosphere & better than average pub food.

I've stayed at this travelogue a number if times and I must say has gone downhill since being taken over. Was part of the innkeepers chain. Rooms have gone downhill ours had a slow shower and loose tiles in the bathroom. But what can you expect for the price. Pub next door quiet good. I have been wary of travelodges due to a couple of less than average stays but was tempted by the low price and good reviews and have to say it was pretty good.
At £25 for the night we got a decent location with a very friendly and helpful receptionist and a standard travelodge room which was warm, pretty comfortable and had a decent telly with freeview channels.
Also a few yards from the entrance is The Old Stables, a traditional pub with bags of character and a very nice full English in the morning rather than the travelodge overpriced continental breakfast on offer.
