When i arrived at the house i was welcomed by wendy(the owner) in a lovely room with a lit fireplace. The place was a warm temperature and atmosphere. Wendy guided us to our room ans was happy to accomodate to any of requirements. She also said that if we got thirsty/hungry during the night she was happy for us make ourselves at home in the kitchen.
The room was lovely, lovely decor and beautiful curtains which wendy had made herself. The room had a fireplace which made it even more cosier. The ensuite was beautiful and very clean.
The beds were amazing, honestly the best nights sleep ever and the sheets were amazingly soft. lovely to sleep in, didnt want to leave.
Breakfast was served at a time to suit us, though she has set meals on her menu she was happy to make the breakfast to your preference. May i comment on the lovely 'garden chickens' eggs. they taste heavenly.
The house has a lovely garden (massive) which is a great view over breakfast.
Around the house wendy was happy to show me her poultry collection which i was so interested in seeing. chickens, turkeys, fluffies and the little chicks in the nursery, all so cute :)
A short walk down is Ryton Pools country park its a wonderful walk to and around it. such great views.
Cant wait for my next visit!x

We had a lovely 2 nights here whilst attending a wedding nearby. Wendy made us very welcome and we had a beautiful 4-poster bedroom in lovely peaceful surroundings. Breakfast was delicious both days and individual requests were dealt with easily. Nothing was too much trouble even down to tea and biscuits when we returned to pick up some belongings. An excellent spot to visit the area.

we stayed for 1 night will attending a friends wedding nearby. Very friendly welcome, but bathrooms, downstairs cloak room all pretty grubby. Made the mistake of sitting on sofa before leaving and covered in dog hairs. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment, but with number of animals really need to up the cleaning.

Stayed here for a second time and need to amend my first review sadly. We had booked a room with a bath but Wendy changed this to one without a bath at the last minute to fit other guests in. It's vital to soak after a day at the NEC! The bathroom was not very clean with the loo roll falling off the wall.

What really put us off and has stopped us going back is the sight of the cat on the breakfast table licking the marmalade! Sorry, but that is just not clean.

Booked elsewhere this year, which is a shame as the house itself is lovely. More of an animal shelter than a B&B - and we do actually like animals - just not to share our food with them!
