The bar area was freezing! Sat with a coat on but had to go to pub around the corner to thaw out! Asked to produce a card of some sort when ordering a drink and when I told the barman I didnt have one he refused to serve me! " But Im a guest!" Oh You didnt say that.
The Reception is tired looking and the lifts seem to have a mind of their own. All in all,pretty poor!

The rooms are bit tired, the pillows very hard, the service a bit chaotic, the reception & dinning room chilly but for the price we paid we can have few complaints. Car parking is a council car park across the road where you have to pay and they do put an extra charge on of £2.00 if you pay with any sort of card-a bit naughty and a point well hidden in the small print when we booked. Apart from the price the plus points were the location, just across the road from the bus station and very near the cathederal and the fact we weren't actually in the room for very long-just to sleep-so perfect for what we wanted.

got an internet deal of £30/per night and planned to stay for 3 nights with my boss, as we were contracting in the area.The last time this hotel had any money spent on it was probably the 1980`s, the place is filthy and i mean filthy. The tarrif rate for a nights stay is apparanty £200 who the hell pays that much.After the second night and the mystery of my of missing shower curtain we decided to check out and find somewhere else.
I can only assume that the owners/share holders of this chain have done nothing but take money out of the place, shame on them for letting it get this way,.....steer well clear of this hotel.

for all the hype about this hotel chain i cant explain how dissapointed i was when we came here.
the function room was very large, however it was very old and dated, the wall paper was ripped in various areas, the carpet was originally green but had gone brown with age, the dance floor was wooden but had huge chips and scuff marks all over it.
the buffet in the evening was awful...a selection of 2 pizzas...a bit of salad...and a tonne of mini sausage rolls, i could have gone to iceland and done a better job myself!
the toilets werent even on the same floor, so guests had to travel down 2 flights of stairs. towards the end of the night none of the ladies toilets had any toilet roll left, and in one cubacle, there were feces all over the floor..walls..ect..absolutely disgusting!
the staff were friendly enough, the drink prices were cheaper than most hotels..but all in all i would never come here again, not even for a meal or a quiet drink,
