“Room OK Hotel has seen much better days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The room was clean & serviced very thoroughly each day.
The public areas were very poor being dated
The corridor to the rooms smelled like a cross between B/O & a smokers den :(
Food was OK However the hotels restaurant booking facility is a complete joke! so much so we only ate there one! There is a Harvester only 2 mins drive away!
Having said all this its does present value for money..................will I be going back? Not if I can help it!!

Room Tip: There is a nice looking Best Western Hotel over the road!

“Don't necessarily go by appearance and worst reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Myself and colleague stayed for two nights to attend expo at NEC.
Good location, 15 minutes from NEC, 5 mins into Coventry, one turn off A45, very easy to find and get to.
Okay, outside appearance not enticing and decor generally dated and tired. Lifts a little intermittent and a few stains here and there on carpets and walls.
All these things not great but, given the price we booked at, not surprising or wholly unacceptable.
What was a pleasant surprise was the friendliness and service from the (young) staff and the excellent food at dinner. Quite frankly I can't believe that those mentioning poor/inedible food even stayed at the same hotel! Our only problem was which dish to choose, all looked enticing and all we tried were excellent.
I won't be bringing my wife here for our wedding anniversary but absolutely will be booking for any future business trips and have no hesitancy in reccomending as a great value, friendly hotel with very good food.
Hats off to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasant surprise

“Checked out just after just under 2 hours!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I have just had to check out of this absolutely horrible hotel. I checked in and went up to my room - at first I thought they'd left a window open because it was sooo freezing and so noisy from the road right outside. However when I checked the window I discovered it was just really rubbish, and broken - they had tried to stick it together with silver gaf tape! I went down and complained and they lady said she would have to send someone to look at it. I explained they weren't going to be able to fix it, and i needed to be moved to another room, which she said couldn't be done until someone had looked at it. To cut a long story short and hour and a half and 3 trips to reception later (still wearing my north face jacket and hat as it was so cold in the room) I was still being cold some "would come along and look at it".

In my opinion warmth is one of the few things you would like to think you could expect from even the shodiest of places. I hadn't even moaned about the wall paper peeling off the walls or the massive stain in the carpet! If someone says they are cold, and it's snowing outside you either move them to another room or send someone up to fix it straight away! Why should i have to wait, freezing to death, on their pleasure.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Yuk!

“Some people.......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

..........want more than a cracking bargain. This hotel looks, from the outside, like it was transported from a soviet block city and dropped accidentally on this small hill in a quiet suburb of Coventry. It may have won design awards in the '70s and is clinging onto it's original decor, carpets and features. But don't despair. The staff are friendly and heplful. The rooms are large and well cleaned. The room supplies are replenished daily. The towels are fluffy and fresh daily. The bed is comfortable and spotless. The shower's a hot grime blaster. The rooms are very quiet. The food is simple but very well cooked and plentiful. The area has lots to offer - Warwick, Stratford, Motor Museum, Cathedral, Oxford, Brum etc. As well as very good road access to Motorways. And all at prices that fit any austerity plan. For older trippers a mooch down memory lane. For younger trippers see what you missed. You may want more for your money..... but then you'd just be greedy.

“Help”

Only one word describes this hotel APPAULING. If your planning to leave your car in their car park don't, not only are there numerous piles of rubble all over the area, but clear evidence of vehicle damage, multiple areas of broken car glass. The food was un-eatable in the restaurant. The entrance resembled a smoking den, you almost had to clean the entrance steps of cig butts to avoid treading them everywhere. The noise in the corridors during the night was totally unacceptable

Room Tip: Don't go there
