stayed at the Travel Lodge in Coventry, it is bang in the middle of town so central for everything. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the bar staff later on in the evening. Room was basic, but clean and bed was comfortable. We booked a double room, for 2 people but there was onoy 1 set of towels, so that wasn't too good. However there were tea and coffee making things and the shower was fab. Breakfast was plentiful (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and tomatoes or croissants, fruit cereal etc.) a basic hotel but one that offered everything you need for a short stay. We also found all of the people in Coventry we spoke to or had dealings with very helpful

Travelodge Coventry is typical of the chain. It's cheap, basic and certainly a no frills hotel. Trying to find the car park was a nightmare it's opposite the hotel in the Orchard Shopping Mall.

In the end had to follow a taxi to find it at 22:45. After the Mall closes you have to contact the car park staff to open the barrier. Hotel staff were friendly and efficiently dealt with the constant sound of running water on the roof, I was on the top floor so that meant moving rooms at 23:40 all I really wanted to do was go to bed.

They do provide breakfast but decided against it I just wanted out of this place as soon as possible.

On a plus point it is very central this has been my third time staying at a Travelodge and has convinced me not to use this chain again.

Stayed for one night in November for the work Christmas party. Well located in the middle of the city, and fairly cheap. Pretty much what you expect from any Travelodge, you get what you pay for.

Stayed here with a mate when we saw The Specials at the Ricoh. Most of the occupants were at the concert, it seemed.

Positives - the location is spot on in the centre of Cov.

Negatives - the room was dirty. The toilet flush didn't work (nice).

Fortunately we literately threw our stuff in the room before hot footing it into town and then onto the Ricoh. We returned late that night (well early morning) and crashed out. It was only the following morning when we found out that our room, was not really up to scratch.

We didn't eat at the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. The staff that we met at check in were polite and it was very busy.

Finding my car was easy. What was not was finding the entrance to the car park. It was a Sunday so the car park was closed. We eventually discovered that you enter the car park on foot through a side door that was closed without sign. More by luck then judgement and after 15mins of wandering around. Ask at reception unless you enjoy strange challenges.

Would I stay at a budget hotel again? Yes. Would I stay at the Travelodge Coventry? No. Would I stay at Travelodge again? Probably not and definately not with my family. In my opinion it's worth paying an extra £10 a night and staying in a more 'Premier' budget hotel...
