We stayed at the hotel rom saturday 11th until monday 13th. When we arrived we paid the £15 per night to upgrade to an executive double as many people had reccommeded this on Tripadvisor. The room was on the 7th floor and although spacious was a little dated. The souble bed was two twins pushed together and did not quite meet. One was hard and the other too soft. Following an evening out we returned to the hotel at 11.30 - the room was cold. There was a plug in heater which we turned on but it got cold as soon as we turned it off. There was no heating in the bathroom and it was freezing. After a cold night we complained and whilst we were out during the day moved to a new room on the 6th Floor. What a difference. This room had been moderised and was warm. much better than our original room.
Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to chose from. Dinner on the first night was fine but not quite 4 star - dated menu and frozen chips. The staff were fine and helpful when asked .
Overall it was fine for what we needed with a good price of £96 for two nights B & B and one dinner.
If you are looking for somewhere nice to eat close by try The Garden Rooms across the road , good food and excellent serviced especially the guy from Carlow who was very helpful and the price was great with plenty of choice.
