Stayed in this hotel 2 nights ago when in Birmingham on business. It was only booked the day before & cost £72 including breakfast.I have stayed in the holiday inn along the road for about the same price & that was far more superior in my opinion.
I understand that you pay for what you get & if i had paid £25 like some others then i would have given a higher mark - maybe an average.
The bed was really uncomfortable & i could feel the springs through the matress. My room was clean enough (although a few strange marks were on the wall which i dont want to think what they were) but the rest of the hotel wasnt. When i went downstairs in the morning my feet were actually sticking to the floor.
Breakfast was ok but it certainly wasnt cooked fresh, just microwaved.
I felt that i wanted to write a review as i always read tripadvisor prior to booking any hotel whether business or pleasure but on this occassion work had booked it for me & whilst i did read TA after i was told where i was staying, i really didnt think it could be as bad as some were making out.
I have stayed in many travel lodges & holiday inns for work & can honestly say that this travel lodge doesnt do the name any justice in the slightest & would probably not reccomend it to anyone really but it wouldnt put me off booking another travel lodge as there are some good ones out there.
