Got a double room at this hotel for half price from a well known site, but on reading some of the reviews posted on trip advisor, i became a little anxious about what we would encounter on our arrival!! However, no need to worry as from a smooth and friendly check in to check out it was a great stay. We had a small double room that was spotlessly clean with tea/coffee facilities, a comfortable and clean bed and what appeared to be a recently refurbished stunning bathroom. We opted not to eat in the restaurant as we didn't think we should come to Birmingham and not have an indian curry. so we discovered a relatively new indian in Acocks Green centre," Shahs", that served one of the best curries i've tasted, in a lovely atmosphere and with the bonus of being able to take your own drinks as it is currently unlicensed. The manager even escorted us out and wished us goodnight after our meal. Wonderful!!! Back to the hotel and after a lovely nights sleep, we had a plentiful and freshly prepared cooked breakfast that was lovely and set us up for the day. The hotel is advertised as being near the NEC and some of the complaints have focused on the fact that it is a couple of miles out. I don't believe that this should be a big issue as the benefits of this hotel is that it has free, plentiful car parking and a train station next door if you wanted to catch the train to the NEC or Birmingham City Centre. For proximity, value for money and the personal touch, i think this hotel is great so please don't be put off by some of the more negative comments. The next time i go to a show at the NEC, i will definately stay here again.
Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the car park are quieter.
