Hotel was in good central location with parking which is a real bonus.Room 487 family room was clean , comfortable and above average bathroom facilities which verged on luxurious which was ideal for the children.Staff were friendly and attentive. A very enjoyable stay, and great value for money.

“Awful place”

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night after a Business Christmas dinner. Everything about the hotel was terrible and if it wasn't that we would have missed our Christmas function,we would have walked back out as quickly as we walked in. The room was small so that the bed was against a wall, dirty and in poor state of repair. The TV was broken with wires hanging out of the wall taped up, drawers were broken on furniture, pieces of the skirting were missing, the carpet was filthy and the room stank of cigarette smoke. I could go on but suffice to say it was the worst hotel experience of my life. There is nothing positive to say about this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

Thank you for your recent review, I am sad to hear about your stay at the Norfolk Hotel last December 2011.
However, The Hotel has gone under much refurbishment since your stay 6 months ago, and all the rooms are of a much higher standard now.
Next time you are visiting please contact the hotel 0121 454 8071 for the best available rates.

Me and my wife have just returned from a weeekend stay here and I was really impressed with this hotel.

Our room was extremely clean, bed was nice, tv had freeview and the staff were always on hand.

The hotel was close to the city centre and catching buses to and from the centre was very easy.

We will return to this hotel next time in bham. Thank you to all the staff who made our trip enjoyable

“Go somewhere else.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012

Although it's a really cheap hotel, I can only persuade everyone to spend a little more and stay somewhere else. The reception hall looks rather nice & clean and that is where these features end....We'd seen 3 rooms until we found one suitably clean to stay in, but it was still awfully outdated and the bed was very uncomfy. And I'm talking broken springs all over inside of its mattress...Oh, and don't bother trying the breakfast either.

“3 star hotel, fantastic location, ideal for short stays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012

I stayed at the Norfolk hotel over the weekend.

Nice reception area, friendly staff that also offered to take our luggage up to our room. When you are paying so little for a room in central birmingham i was not expecting such an exceptional service.

We stayed 2 nights in a double room, The room was clean and the bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished and it was a lovely surprise given my reservations before booking a room at this hotel.

There is a good sized free car park at the front and to the rear of the hotel which is a saving as most hotels even charge to park overnight!

The only one disadvantage is that the hotel does not have its own restaurant however there is a restaurant next door and on the hagley road itself theres an indian, TGI fridays, Ask (italian) and many pubs so you cant run out of places to eat.

For the price we paid and the brilliant location to Bullring, NIA , Mailbox and Broad street it is definatley worth staying here if its for a short stay.

I would definately stay here again!

B
