I've just returned from a one-night business-related stay at this hotel. This hotel wasn't my first choice, as there was a Holiday Inn which was literally only minutes from where my work for the day was, but they were quoting £145 for the night, room only (I've stayed in Marriots and other 4* Hotels for less than that!).
The Best Western Westley Hotel were advertising 'executive' rooms (no standard doubles available) for £94 inc breakfast, although the hotel is around 2.5 miles from Solihull centre.
On arrival, the Hotel reception area and the surrounds were in a good condition, and the check-in pleasant and swift (after a little confusion re my room, which was probably my fault).
My 'executive' room was well furnished and decorated, as was my en-suite, with quality fittings.
The bed was lovely, with good quality bedding, and all spotless in terms of cleanliness.
My only negative comments re the room, (as mentioned by a previous reviewer) was 1) The size - they are small for 'executive' rooms. 2) My room (number 10) was also very warm - although the radiator was switched off. Some discussion with the Restaurant staff identified that the room was over the kitchen. I had to keep the window open all night to make it possible for a comfortable night's sleep.
I ate in the Hotel restaurant, and found the food to be first-class, as was the service - attentive and friendly without being too pushy. Breakfast was also good - although, as is often the case these days, of buffet style, which I seldom find to be hot enough.
In summing up, whilst not in a particularly 'scenic' area, I would not hesitate to stay again in this hotel, should the need arise.
