“Funeral Tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We were very grateful to the staff at Norwood Hotel who with their quiet efficiency provided a relaxed atmosphere for our guests. The buffet was excellent and they were sympathetic to our uncertainty about number of guests. We would have every confidence in recommending Mark and the Norwood Hotel to other people for their funeral tea.

“Funeral tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My husband and I recently stayed at the Norwood, prior to my dear father's funeral. As we had chosen the Norwood for the funeral tea, having held my mother's funeral tea there five years ago, we decided to book a room as well. We were warmly greeted by Mark, the owner, and shown to the spacious 'Executive room' on the ground floor. This was spotlessly clean and well furnished and the bathroom was enormous! There were ample facilities for tea and coffee but Mark made himself available at the end of the phone for any other requests. Breakfast was generous with a choice of juice and cereals and the full cooked breakfast was delicious. We would recommend the Norwood for pleasure or business. Mark and Julie, his wife, were kind, respectful and discrete hosts at our sad family occasion. They provided a good buffet, hot drinks and scones on arrival and drinks were available from the bar. Thank you both.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiance at the Norwood Hotel. We feel that the exclusivity of the Garden Suite lends itself to an occasion such as this. We try to portray it as an extension of your own home and I know that your family and friends enjoyed seeing the photographs which you displayed, it was a lovely atmosphere.

“Funeral tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We chose the Norwood for a funeral tea for our dear departed mother and I can say that we couldn't have chosen better. It was a sad and difficult time and my sister - one of life's worriers -was very anxious that things should run smoothly for our guests. Mark and Julie, the hotel owners, are clearly very experienced, they were the epitome of professional efficiency and in no time my sister was completely relaxed. The buffet was excellent and the hotel has a bar if you want something a little stronger. To cap it all there's a beautiful garden to enjoy if the sun shines - and it did for us.

Room Tip: We didn't stay at the hotel but given the way we were looked after at the funeral tea I have no...

Thank you for taking the time for sharing these thoughts, John. It is a huge worry to entrust such a special occasion onto others, but our policy at Norwood Hotel is to treat your guests as our own. We have found that the proximity to Lodge Hill Crematorium has led to lots of enquiries to host "after funeral receptions". We are delighted your day with us went so well.

“Funeral Tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I just wanted to write this review to say a Thank you to the staff at the Norwood Hotel. A difficult day was made stressfree, with a warm family atmosphere created at the hotel, without the hassle of the washing up afterwards. My guests and family could sit have a drink in the bar reminissing about my father, the children were happy to play in the garden and the food was warm and plentiful.
Thank you Mark for allowing me to concentrate on what was important without worrying about shopping, making food and accomodating everyone. The funeral tea ran smoothly and the warm cup of tea on arrival was very much appreciated.
