“no wi fi , no games console and no mini bar”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

we stayed friday till sunday on arrival everything ok did expect a little more as it isnt anything like what it looks like on the internet. Rooms dated but clean with plenty of hot water. Staff on reception very helpfuul, waiting staff girls not so good not even a smile. Food was overpriced twelve pounds for a prawn curry and if you have room service you have to pay three pounds fiftr for a tray , there was no games console no mini bar and no wifi as advertised, all in all an ok stay.

“Very good because of the price and the quality of triple rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed here on a saturday night and paid 60 piunds for a triple room, its basic fairly clean and I think we definate had rooms that had been recently refurbished as some of the others looked a lot shabbier. Customer service was better than I have had in some four star hotels and there is a concierge at night so you don't get any trouble. Would stay again for the convenience and value of it but definately request a recently refurbished room as they looked a lot better quality.

“Completely unacceptable utter rubbish hotel room! Would never, ever stay again and would highly recommend you find somewhere els”

I booked in to a single whilst visiting my fiancé who had been flown in to hospital from afghanistan, checked in at 11pm and was given room 241 which backed on to the lift. The constant noise from that was the least of my troubles. Had to use entire body weight to open the door which had a broken closer. Ceiling tiles were broken and had damp patches on most of them. Radiator didn't work, drawers had knobs missing and screws sticking out. Bathroom looked like it might have had tiled one day. Old style toilet with coated metal seat chipped all over cast iron shower tray similar to an old prison style light so dim had to keep the very old door open. Surprisingly no details to contact reception but made a sensible guess at it being dial zero.... Whilst in a bath towel as shower was freezing cold. Give key to room next door, clearly not slept in overnight, was like a completely different hotel, spotless and new. My room was fit for demolition, why they wouldnt have put me in the other room I don't know? Complained in te morning after my £8.50 breakfast half of which was missing, and was asked why I didn't ring down if there was a problem. Funny enough I was not in the mood and just wanted a nights sleep. I would avoid this place at all costs. I will be contacting them again re a refund!

“Excellent Value for Money Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I booked this hotel because it is 'dog friendly'. Having read some of the reviews I was a little worried, but it was only for two nights.

On arrival my daughter and I were welcomed in a very friendly fashion. We went to our room which although a little tired, was clean and comfortable. There was a TV, free WIFI and the bathroom was nice with a good size shower. The twin beds were very comfortable and not the really tiny ones you get in a lot of hotels. The sheets were extremely clean, as were the towels.

Yes the skirting boards were a bit scuffed, yes the wallpaper had been 'cut in in places', but this did not worry us at all - I can't believe anyone could feel aggrieved because they aren't in a show home. This is only a 3 star. There was a cigarette burn in the carpet and as this is a no smoking hotel the management can hardly be blamed for this. We were next to the lift and could hear it, but not to the point it caused us any disturbance. There is 24 hour room service for which there is a charge, but again I have paid more and less and if I don't like a charge I won't use the service. I though the breakfast was excellent and they offer a range of vegetarian extras and a variety of fresh cooked eggs to your liking, on top of all the usual things. My only moan was they didn't have many diet drinks, which doesn't give much choice if you have diabetes or something similar.

Finally the staff - all I can say is excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. All the staff couldn't have been nicer. Please remember if you ever do have a moan it is always the poor staff that get it, and they are just earning a living like the rest of us. I found them absolutely wonderful.

I will close by saying I have stayed in lots of hotels, more often than not 4 or 5 star. This hotel has knocked spots of quite a few of them, including on £300 a night hotel I stayed in in London. Cheap, cheerful and VFM I will be staying there next time I go to the NIA.

“ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE - BLOOD ON BED SHEET!! NEVER STAY HERE! RUDE INCOMPETENT STAFF!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

This was quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Worse than student halls, worse than a £5 hostel.
First of all, there was blood on the bedsheets.

Second of all, after 4 phone calls and 1 email - management eventually called me back. The lady was, to put it mildly - a rude moron.

As a fee paying guest - I expect hospitality, PROMPT service, a clean room (no blood on the bedsheet) and an adequate response.

I received nothing. No refund. Nothing.

Never ever stay here.
