If you're looking for a countryside escape, a chance for R&R and a bit of spa, then Wroxall's the place for you!
I booked an overnight stay with my other half as we were desperately in need of a battery recharge - one night away from our little girl, just the two of us. The building is absolutely stunning - even with grey skies it looked imposing.
The staff were falling over themselves to be of help - phoning the spa on our behalf, answering questions etc, and prompt service of afternoon tea when it was ordered. The spa is not up to the standard of somewhere like Ragdale Hall, but the facilities were good and everything was clean - very important! There's a full size swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a therapist on hand for wonderful ESPA treatments so I'm not complaining!
The restaurant provides two evening menus to cater for different budgets - very helpful and we didn't feel we were compromising on taste or quality by not choosing from the A La Carte menu. Portions were good and food was beautifully presented and delicious!
Breakfast was also good, and who can complain with the beautiful views from the restaurant in the morning.
Our room was spotlessly clean, charming with high ceilings, bay window and a very, very comfortable bed. Admittedly is you look closely atthe paintwork in places it perhaps needs some refurbishment, but I really think that this is nitpicking. I stayed at a Hilton recently - soulless identikit bedrooms and bathrooms, the hotel situated close to a busy road and retail park. Wroxall is the opposite of this and all the more refreshing for it.
I planto go back just as soon as we've saved up a few pennies and found someone to have the little one again!
