“Excellent - Great New Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

A newly built hotel amongst offices in leafy technical / office park (unfair for other reviewers to call it a trading estate). A very peaceful and quiet location.
Its such a pleasant change to see this new style of Premier Inn where you can get a Costa Coffee, evening meal and a drink (like a real hotel). Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are great. Evening meal is good. Staff accomodated with some internal discussions but trying to get a Costa Coffee but not a breakfast was a slight issue. Strange when there is a coffee price list on each table - but obviously not during breakfast time.
Only quibble with arriving in daylight was I put my phone on charge only to realise that the power in the room doesnt work until you insert your key card so my phone hadnt been charging. Also, the heating in the room seems to go off when you take the key card out, so your room is a tad chilly when you get back. (it was -1c outside so some ambient heating would have been nice when I got back to my room).
Free wifi advertised is only for 30 mins, then its chargeable... wifi not expensive rates when you consider the cost of staying.
The automated (quick) check can is a mild pain as its slower and takes a member of staff to show you what to do. Just normal check in but the guest does the typing.
I had to go out for an hour and upon return, the car park was full.

Room Tip: What happened to radiators and sensible placement of heaters. The heating in the room (which comes f...

Thankyou for your response, I would just like to clarify, that the room 'Energy Saver' keycard only disables the room and bathroom lights. It does not disable the plug sockets or the Air conditioning. I can only apologise that on this occasion it did not seem to work like that.
The Air conditioning in each room is controlled by the hotel guest, we do have the ability in reception to overide and pre-warm rooms. Due to the extreme weather we are experiencing we are now 'Pre-Heating' all arrival rooms for the comfort of all guests.

“New Hotel at Warwick.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed at the Premier Inn Opus 40 at Warwick for weekend 21/22 January 2012. A newly built place amongst offices in a trading estate. A very peaceful location. We easily achieved our aim of visiting Warwick, Leamington Spa and Stratford on Avon which were all within easy reach. Bus stop on main road was reasonably convenient and we used concession bus pass for some travel. We concur remarks made in other, earlier, reviews. Staff were excellent, polite, helpful and forthcoming. Minor delays in kitchen need to be eliminated...many people find such delays to be irksome. A most enjoyable weekend break and our first in newly opened premises. Good sized room, all fresh and clean. A comfortable bed and sound sleep.

“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed for 1 night and couldn't have been more impressed, this being a brand new hotel on the outskirts if Warwick.
We were greeted by a very polite courteous and friendly young man, I wish i would have noted his name. Check in was painless.
There was a lift to our room, which was accessed by swiping your room card ( a nice extra security precaution).
The room was large, with the standard premier inn set up, Flat screen TV, tea & coffee.
The bathroom was a good size with bath and shower.
All was spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was excellent, buffet style with very friendly welcoming staff.
You got the first 30 mins of WIFI free then you had to pay.
All in all I was really impressed with this hotel and am already looking to spend a couple of nights here as its well situated to do Warwick, Strattford upon Avon and Leamington Spa.
an excellent stay!

“A few teething problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

You know what you're getting with Premier Inn and this being a new hotel the rooms are very comfortable for a great price.

The hotel has a nice bar area and the restaurant offers plenty of choice for dinner and has a chilled atmosphere. The staff are very willing to help, but at the moment there appear to be some bedding in issues in the restaurant.

We ordered a pizza for our youngest but after a long wait we were told that they had burned it and had no others left. We ordered something else and while we were waiting for this, and the rest of our food, a waiter came from the kitchen with a chicken pizza. He couldn't find anyone who had ordered this and was told to bin it by a colleague - all a bit Fawlty Towers. Having said this, our waiter, James, was very apologetic and offered us a free round of drinks to compensate for our wait.

Breakfast on Sunday morning was chaotic. The restaurant was very busy and understaffed. The kitchen didn't seem able to cook quickly enough to meet demand and people were waiting for a long time for hot food and even fruit juice. My partner ordered veggie sausages and these took about 40 mins to arrive. James seemed to be the only waiter working, though he was being assisted by a girl from reception and a trainee. All were rushed off their feet but always polite and helpful.

So, the management have a few issues to sort out - mainly they need more staff at the weekends. The staff they have are excellent and can't be blamed at all for the difficulties we saw. The hotel still represents great value and I'm sure these problems will be ironed out.

“Premier Inn moves up a league....”

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this newly opened PI just a week after it had opened. I booked two rooms for myself, husband, elderly father & daughter as our accommodation of choice when attending our daughter's graduation ceremony at The University of Warwick. The hotel is located just minutes from J15 of the M40 and is easily accessible. The car park is well designed & illuminated with good sized spaces, CCTV & room to manoeuvre. The hotel is then approached on foot across a small footbridge which crosses a brook ( more of this later ).
Access & parking for disabled persons appeared very good indeed.
We received a warm & courteous welcome from Cory & Natasha and were checked in efficiently & advised of dining arrangements & the good night's sleep guarantee. My elderly father sometimes finds Debit/Credit card machines fiddly & Cory was patience itself ; much appreciated.
The lift can only be operated from the ground floor by guests with a room key, making us feel quite secure.
Doors in corridors close gently & quietly & the corridors were tidy, clean, illuminated & wide.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, well designed with good TV, lighting ,desk & seating, quality refreshments & superb bed. The bathroom was small but roomy enough with excellent power shower & immediate, copious hot water. The lighting in the bathroom was as good as it gets for shaving & make up application - at last, someone has got this right: my husband has complained for years about poor illumination in bathrooms, even in some of the best hotels in the world - brilliant.
We dined in hotel's gorgeous "Thyme" restaurant & there was a hiccup between ordering & receiving our food which led to a longer than acceptable wait. This was acknowledged, apologised for & remedied by a complimentary round of drinks by the waiter. When the food
came, it was worth the wait. The steaks were absolutely superb, cooked to our requirements, the rest of the orders were top notch too. Desserts were delicious & the service was cheerful, attentive & unintrusive - special mention goes to Liz ( in training & a delight), James & Tom. Superb selection at the bar & the wine was served correctly & at the optimum temperature.
We slept like logs in our quiet and comfortable rooms but due to our planned, very early departure could not sample the breakfast.

I have only one negative comment to make. Referring back to the bridge/ brook, we noted that one side of the brook was completely unfenced & could be easily accessed from the car park by children. There is a small sign to warn parents of this risk but it remains unsafe & needs urgently making safe....
But for this issue, I would have happily awarded a 5 star review. A top, top experience & thoroughly recommended. If you are staying in the Warwick/ Leamington Spa area, this would be a good base for your stay. Well done PI & the Warwick team.
