“birthday treat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I booked this hotel as a treat for my partners birthday. On arriving i was greeted by Tim who seemed very nice. We were shown where to park around the back which was great. Tim helped us with our bags and showed us to our room.
On entering room 1 we were very very dissapointed as the size of it was just totally unacceptable for the price we were paying.(£68 per night) The bed was lumpy and noisy and really uncomfortable. No chairs to sit on so we had to sit on bed all the time. The en-suite was a small cupboard which was`nt really that clean and needs re grouting. The shower i could`nt use as the shower head was so clogged up it was just a trickle. Next morning breakfast which we ordered the night before was ok. I decided i would ask to change rooms and i have to say Tim was very accomodating. We were given room 3 and that was much better. This room was the same price as room 1 which we find strange as its a much better room. A huge bed and very comfortable too. The room was a lot bigger and the shower nice and clean. And we had 2 chairs in the room which was much better.
There was a very short walk in to the center of Stratford it only took a few mins to get to the first pub, resturant or shop.
All in all we enjoyed our time at the hotel after our first night in the cupboard!!

“Great B & B close to everything.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Easy to find and close enough to walk to all attractions. Great B & B with comfortable beds and ample room to open your case. Thankyou to Tim for all the information regarding places to see and where to eat. Breakfast was fantastic with ample food provided. Parking is also provided close by and big enough for a 9 seater van.

“The Perfect English B&B.....Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011 via mobile

My Wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this delightful B&B for several nights earlier this month. I just had to leave the highest praise for the Owner Tim who welcomed us and indeed looked after us so well during our stay. He recommended some great places to eat, and sights to see . He also personally cooked the best Full English Breakfast I have ever had... It was all faultless. Immaculate rooms, clean and well appointed ...we are from Upstate New York and we have high standards. This charming place deserves awards for it's quality and outright charm. High praise I know , but Tim deserves it... He has built a really solid great enterprise in this venture, well done Tim. We will return every year to see you ! Hank & Mary.

“Value for money B and B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Virginia lodge for three nights. We were met by Tim who was very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was very clean and reasonably sized. Breakfasts were ample and well cooked with good vegetarian options. The B and B is within easy walking distance of the town centre (under 10 minutes). We would have no hesitation reccomending the Virginia lodge to anyone looking for good short break accommodation.

Room Tip: Our room had a four poster bed at the front of the hotel. Despite overlooking the main road noise wa...
