“Romantic, historic, spa 5 star, overall 5 star and return anytime”

We have just spent the weekend here and it was amazing, the staff, services and food were top notch.
We booked an execuitve room and if you make a booking PLEASE PLEASE pay the extra, the rooms are huge (about the size of a modest bungalow).
The food was second to none in taste and presentation.
As for the Spa,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well it was very hard to say come on lets go have a look around, soooo relaxing.

WITHOUT DOUBT A BEAUTIFUL OLD HOUSE AND AMAZING. DONT MISS OUT

“Book direct NOT through a third party - if you want good customer service”

I had some issues in regard to the booking process as I thought I was reserving a room. However I ended up paying in advance for the booking without realising it. This meant that I was unable to cancel or change the booking at all. Although the customer services people at LateRooms did all they could to assist with negotiating with the hotel. Their Customer Services person (who's title is interestingly "Group Revenue Manager") would not be flexible on their advance booking and cancellation policy. So my only word of advice would be to check the cancellation policy thoroughly before booking if there is any chance that you may need to re-schedule your dates or cancel. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED IN MOST ONLINE BOOKINGS...This will cost you an EXTRA £17. In my experience, most hotels on LateRooms offer a 48 hour cancellation policy but not this one! The hotel is nice and it has a small spa which is a bonus. (Beware though as there are noisy children in the pool during peak times). The Service was good and the rooms are what you would expect at a hotel of this calibre.

Room Tip: Ensure you purchase Breakfast included as very often the rate they quote is room only.

Miss Marshall when making a booking there are many options to choose from and clearly you opted for the lower charge which has the Room Note - Advanced Purchase Rate - Room only basis - and states clearly that the charge is full pre-payment at the time of booking and is non refundable and non transferable. We did send a copy of this screen to you.
You do not mention the fact that we offered to move your reservation to another date which you refused.
I am sorry that you felt we were uncooperative but you did make the Advance booking on a room only basis - ALL bookings are offered with a B&B rate.
Please also note that children swim times are from 10am to midday and 3pm to 5pm only.

This was our 6th visit to The Welcombe Hotel & it just gets better very time. Looking forward to booking again.

“Great conference venue”

Stayed for four nights for a conference. Bedroom was very good with comfortable bed and tv integrated into the in-room iMac. The only thing I would have liked that wasn't available was slippers as bathroom floor very cold in the mornings.

Food also very good, whether breakfast, conference lunch or dinner, and always well presented. Staff very accommodating.

Wonderful to relax in the lounge in the evening.

Went on a company meeting. Rooms nice but could do with an upgrade.
Food good. Didn't have time to enjoy the facilities.
Would like to go back when not on business.
