“Miserable owner with tiny room and even tinier bathroom”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Dismal b&b, unfriendly owners, a double room which had 12 inches around the bed literally, a 2ft by 6th bathroom. Smallest shower I've ever been in, Fruit in room was about 4 weeks out of date. Place smelled like an old peoples home. Gives b&b's a bad name - worst room I've ever stayed in in my life ! But breakfast was good and room was clean

“Tiny room ,unhelpful owners”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

I would echo the comments made earlier about the small rooms and poor attitude of the owners.
We arrived early and decided to see if we could check in early. Every family run hotel /guest house that i have visited have been happy to assist if the room is ready or at the very least , allow bags to be stored if the room was not ready . Not here . The front door was locked and the owner made it clear that we were not coming in until the check in time. This seemed very petty.
The owners did not seem particularly friendly , well not until we came to pay.
The room was clean but very small .I think it was th smallest shower that I have ever been in -it was difficult to turn round without touching the cold shower walls.
The breakfast was very good , but ther ws only one slice of toast each which was a bit mean,
Overall ,not impresed , have paid less for much better . Will not be going back.

“Nice location and breakfast but”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

I had a one night stay in a single room this week at the Castle Laurels. The location is ideal for the castle and is only a 10 minute walk from the town. The room was poky and you had to lift the duvet cover to shut the door. It was nicely decorated but there was dust on the skirting and some of the fixtures and there was a dirty pair of old socks in the wardrobe and someones old come left on the radiator. The en suite was even smaller and you could not sit full on on the toilet without banging your knees. The rail one shower was under 6 foot from the floor so me being just over 6 foot banged my head on it, it also only just over 2 foot square. The saving grace was the breakfast which was well cooked and there was a good selection. It was somewhere to lay my head but I think the Holiday Inn up the road may have been better value.

“Convenient for the castle”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Stayed here for 1 night - great location just across the road from the Castle and with a couple of decent pubs within walking distance up the road. Breakfast was good and I liked the little fridge with bottled water and fresh milk available (makes a very nice change from the usual UHT). However I didn't feel it was value for money: our room was very small but more importantly come early morning we found it to be very noisy with traffic (hadn't noticed the night before as we arrived quite late). I don't know how busy they were but there didn't seem to be many cars in the car park or people around at breakfast so it seems odd they would put us in a noisy room if they had other rooms available. Luckily we only stayed 1 night, if we'd been staying for longer I would definitely have requested to move rooms.

Room Tip: Make sure your room doesn't overlook the main road at the front

“Good Base for expolring the area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

We stayed here as part of a weekend away, the b&b is in a great location for exploring kenilworth or warwick castle. The room we had was very small but it had a nice comfy bed and the moveable tv was very good, The bathroom was tiny and although I know this is just the size of the room i did feel that this let the room down, we paid £69 and i think compared to other b&b's we have stayed in this seems a bit high for the room we got.The fresh fruit and range of drinks in the room was good and the availabilty of fresh milk and bottled water was usefull. The breakfast was good and cooked to order , there were also a range of fruit juices and cereals although both of us felt that the orange juice wasnt the best quality.I would recomend this b&b if you are looking for a base to explore the area
