“Over Priced and Could Do Better!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Me and a few friends stayed at this hotel for 2 nights last weekend for a city break. We decided to book to this hotel a few months before our travels, as it looked a really nice hotel on the website. It was abit expensive to what we normally pay for a hotel, but we thought it would be worth it.

When we arrived at the hotel we had to go in ourselves with no staff greeting us indoors, and we even had to go into the office bit to talk to the staff on reception. At this point this had a bad impression and unprofession, even thought the man who checked us in was friendly.

Then we got into our room and i was not happy with the quality it was.. It was old fashioned , small and very dusty on the furniture. The bathroom was very small and the sink was half falling off, the soap was still there from the last guests, which i find very disgusting. Not to mention the shower head looked like it had not been cleaned for years. But the beds were a pleasure to sleep in and the best nights sleep i have had for a long time.

Breakfast was a real let down for food, as they did not offer full cooked breakfast. £67.00 pppn you would have thought you could get a proper full english breakfast for that price. The only food there was were Cerals, fruit, bread and cake ...!!! ?

We had to hand in our keys in the evening when we went out , which is bad as we did not want to leave our stuff somewhere we dont really know without security.

I think this hotel is very poor and unprofessional staff, even the manager did not speak or smile. Therefore i would not stop at this hotel again... Rip off for what you get and service.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Always read the hotel reviews before booking.

“could be much better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

I stayed here last weekend. The staff were lovely but the internet is full of spyware which I also got on my laptop from logging into their system. The walls are paper thin. I could hear the man snoring in the next room and other noises from the room above me. The breakfast was ok but the fruit was old and inedible. Theres a £2 charge to pay by card. I am unsure if I would stay here again although on a limited budget you get what you pay for. However having stayed in B and B's in London for a few pounds more, this hotel needs some work done to it to bring it up to standard. Guests should also not be asked to hand their keys in when they leave for an evening.

“Just what we needed to accompany our son to his UNI.”

It was close to where our son's university residence, St Mary's; The breakfast is not full english breakfasts but it was fine and healthy....mainly Fruits. Certainly their price is more economical than other accomodations available around. The secured parking was very important to us.

Room Tip: unfortunately, the walls are thin so I dont think there are quiet rooms.

“Better Than Expected!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

This hotel was better than expected. But, i was with a gang of blokes!! Its certainly not somewhere to take the wife. Unfortunately, the manager decided to rip us off by charging 25 quid a head as oppposed to the 15 quid stated on the website. For this reason, i will go along with the majority of punters and give it the usual 1/5.
