“Wonderful B&B in the countryside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Hedley Hall is not an ordinary B&B. It is located in the country side but still within easy reach of Newcastle. It is a challenge to find without a GPS or map App. But it is worth the effort. From the time of making an enquiry to departure, Brenda - the proprietor of this B&B - has provided magnificent service and hospitality without been intrusive. The property is well maintained and very clean. The twin room we stayed in was spacious & the bathroom was modern. Breakfast, ordered the night before, was generous. This is, by far, the best B&B we have stayed in so far.

“Amazing customer experience!”

Delightful guesthouse with great service from the owner. Breakfast was excellent. My room was eloquently decorated and bed was very comfortable. Would certainly recommend?

We stayed at Hedley Hall for 3 nights in September 2011. We loved the location, very rural, quiet and fresh clean air. It isn't far to the main highway and Newcastle is very accessible. Everything about this establishment is A1++, room was lovely, bed very comfortable and room was large and beautifully decorated.I'm a clean freak and the cleanliness here was top class, even the nuts and bolts on the towel warmer shone!! Our stay here was complimented by Brenda's warm hospitality. If ever I'm lucky enough to be in Newcastle again this would be my only choice of accommodation.

“Home from home in 5 star style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

We have just set off home from this hotel.

A beautiful residence, with service that you would only expect from the top of the range hotels!
Set in private grounds away from the hussle n bustle, it can only be stated as "Home from Home" in style.
Brenda keeps an immaculate house along with her attentive staff. There is the main building in which we stayed, which is classy and clean with a large screen TV and large conservatory .The cottages, which are equally as clean, have all the facilities including, cooking, washing and even a dishwasher to boot!

The food can only be described as one of the best English breakfasts we have had. (If you like kippers these are the best here!).

We travel up north regularly and this will be the 1st place we call for availability when we return.

Near to all the attractions and some real good food haunts!

1 tip, book well in advance!!

Room Tip: In the hotel for complete service, in the cottages for more of an independent break. You choose!

“I don't really want to tell you about this hidden gem, but I'm nice, so I will!”

I booked a room at Hedley Hall the night before I stayed when I found myself needing to attend a large conference in Newcastle. As I was booking so late, nearly of the reasonably priced hotel rooms in Newcastle, even at more budget chains were either fully booked or charging extortionate fees.

I rang up and Brenda was very friendly and efficient on the phone, and I was really surprised at the very reasonable room rate of £65 including breakfast. I arrived quite late (as I was driving up after work) but the house was not too far from the A1 (although the road was quite dark and windy). Once there the area was so peaceful and quiet, you'd never think that Newcastle was only a few miles away!

I was greeted by a colleague of Brenda's, Faye, who was very welcoming and showed me around.

The bedroom itself was absolutely beautiful. Tastefully and sympathetically decorated, with a massive king size bed and sofa, large wardrobe, dressing table and shower room. It was also spotless. There was a well stocked drinks tray and even fresh fruit in the room. Instead of those plasticky milk cups Faye offered me fresh milk in a little jug.

After the best night's sleep I've had in ages in the very comfy bed, I came downstairs to breakfast where I was greeted by Brenda. She produced a delicious breakfast that was excellent in quality, especially the locally-made jam.

In all, a great stay which totally set me up for a long day of business, However I wish I'd discovered it for leisure instead, because it is a lovely little getaway and I'm hopeful of coming back again soon!
