“Very Accomodating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Owners are extremely accomodating, delicious breakfasts, beautiful coffee. I stayed in the Garden Room - twin bedded, didnt find the beds particularly comfortable so had to double up my duvet! (could feel the springs!) but quality of room/bedding/towels was very good. My parents stayed in the Fellside which they rated highly. Stayed here a few years ago, and was very nice then, lovely setting and beautiful garden room come conservatory. Shame the owners are leaving.

Room Tip: Byermoor room is best

“Great little B&B that I would happily stay at again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011 via mobile

We stayed at this B&B for one night only and really enjoyed our stay. It is a way out of Newcastle, which was not a problem for us. The rooms were clean and well appointed and the owners friendly and hospitable.

“Loved it - friendly and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

This a lovely guest house out in the country, so nice and peaceful, but near enough to Newcastle / Gateshead for those who like the bright lights. Our experience was good right from the start. I had booked on line and forgotten to specify a ground floor room - our room was changed to ground floor immediately. The rooms were beautifully decorated and well appointed, with really comfy beds. There is a guests' lounge, which is becoming a rarity nowadays. The food was excellent and the service at breakfast attentive without being intrusive. We were recommended a local pub for dinner - it, too, was good.

“In the countryside but very near Newcastle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2011

We stayed here for three nights mainly because we were seeing Take That in Sunderland and we wanted to visit the Beamish Museum. This is a great base for the museum which is minutes away and also very close to Newcastle whilst being in lovely peaceful countryside. Breakfast was served in the very pretty gothic style conservatory and could not be faulted and the garden is wonderful. The bedroom (Fellside) was comfortable and had a large en-suite but no chair or area to sit. However, there is a small guest lounge downstairs just off the conservatory which we could have used.
The owners were very helpful and all in all this B&B was a very relaxing place to stay.

“Fabulous welcome, great breakfast, wonderful views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2011

We stayed at East Byermoor for one night whilst visiting The Sage in Gateshead for a concert. Concert fantastic and stay fantastic too. We had a warm welcome from the owner's son and dog! Room lovely with great views, every need catered for. The breakfast was excellent and surroundings were lovely. I would highly recommend a stay at this very friendly B & B and if you are looking for a walk with great views, visit Gibside estate (NT) whilst you are there. If you are lucky you will get to see Red Kites.
