“ok, friendly helpful but bit out of the way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

So we booked this hotel for a friends 21st birthday as we wanted a night out in newcastle, we travelled from manchester as to find out that the hotel was a little out of the way around 10 -15 mins to the town center in a taxi, this wasnt a problem but if u wanted to be in the action book somewer closer.

The room was a little old fashioned but adequate and lots of towels.

The staff was very very helpful even finding us a needle and thread as last minuate disaster happend and a rip in an outfit occured, although after a night out we was not very happy to be woken up in the morning around 8am with the sound of the maid thudding towels down outside our room and whitling for half an hour. quite anoying with an hangover on a sunday morning.

The hotel was ok not great but also not bad

“Comfortable but no frills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

We stayed in this hotel while walking Hadrian's Wall. This hotel's main advantage is it is half a mile from the start of the walk, and across the street from the Metro station, so getting to and from Newcastle proper is easy. It is very basic but perfectly fine. We were there on a Sunday night, and while the information we had said they served meals on Sunday nights, they did NOT (not enough people to bring the chef in), but they gave us some recommendations for restaurants in nearby Little Wallsend, so we walked there and had a nice meal They have wi-fi in the bar, but it doesn't get into the rooms.

“Perfect for Hen/Stag Nights!! :))”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

Arrived at the hotel very early on Friday morning knowing our rooms wouldn't be ready until 2pm but the very friendly lady on reception said she would get them done for us by 12 as we had been travelling all night! The hotel decor is very dated and would recommend this hotel for a 'nice weekend away' ....but having said that it was perfect for us as we were 8 girls on a hen night !!
We bought our own drink and the barman opened it for us and gave us a bucket of ice to keep it cool :)))
Only downfall was that we weren't that close to the centre. If you order a taxi from the hotel it was about £8 for a 5 seater but if you flag a taxi down it was about £14!! All in all i would defo recommend it :)))
