“Don't believe all you read”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Good web site but don't believe all you read. The hotel is average to say the least. As it seems to be the normal with these hotels.. They employ a lot of young staff, that's fine as long as they have the right training and supervision. In the villages case the seem to fall down on both points.

The worst being the Resturant .the service was appalling on the both nights. The staff seem to think the they were at school and congregated in one corner chatting amongst them selves totally abliverous to any of the Resturant guests.

The room was average along with most of everything else.

It's a shame that by cutting corners and employing young staff without training and supervision the hotel was a let down.

We did complain and received a bottle of champagne but l would of rather had better service.

Thank you for posting a review on our hotel, I'm sorry that our restaurant service fell short of your expectations - Buca di Beppo aims to recruit vibrant staff to provide an enthusiastic and energetic level of service and as as result each team member enrols in an extensive training programme, so I am disappointed to hear about your experience

“Lovely hotel, good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Arrived and parked up for free. Hotel is on a business park and a little hard to find. It is not in the centre of town for those who do not know the area. you would need to taxi into Newcastle. Check in simple. Room very modern decor and clean and comfortable. Leisure facilities very good, pool and sauna and steam room nice. Had a meal in restaurant with Groupon voucher. very nice but small portions if you had been paying full price. Bar in hotel nice, was busy at the time and drinks not the cheapest. Had a walk along road to a local pub but had one drink as was not the nicest - bad kareoke!! Breakfast lovely food and plenty of choice. Couple on table behind us did complain they had dirty crocery and cutlery. Would defo recommend for the £49 b&b we paid.

Thank you for your feedback regarding our leisure facilities

We have a strict maintenance schedule which aims to prevent any breakdowns and in the event that we do, there is a 48 hour repair policy in place

As we have such high usage of the club (we have over 4000 members and 157 bedrooms) a piece of equipment may unfortunately break down from time to time

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Nice enough but very impersonal. Average review simply because I didn't take advantage of the leisure faclities. Rooms only ok, shower very weak and not hot enough (twice) in my room and a stained towel provided, luckily I was able to use the spare. Breakfast, however, was really very good.

“A Fantastic, Value for money night at the Village Newcastle”

We were visiting Mum who lives 190 miles away from us in Whitley Bay last week, so needed a base. We got an unbelievable rate at the Village Hotel near Newcastle /Whitley Bay for just £30 per room including full English breakfast!

We were warmly welcomed, and our room was spacious, warm and clean, with a fab' flat screen TV and several SKY channels.

The bed was comfortable, with extra pillows available, and the ensuite bathroom was spotless with a fab' power shower.

We ate in the Victory Pub - great food, and extensive bar menu - all reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly and the food was hot!

At checkout we were made to feel like we were valued customers even though we got such a good deal.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good quality accommodation & food.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any family rooms available at check in. We got a superb family room with loads of e...
