Stayed two nights to attend a wedding - all good - lovely soft bed and large room with arm chairs. Bathroom was a little jaded but nothing to complain about. Hotel is well north of Newcastle itself but conveniently off the A1 if you are travelling through. Not far to get to centre of city by car - although Newcastle tends to be a bit of race track but lots to see near the Tyne.

Breakfast was buffet style with good choices - cooked and cold - the (unpopular) black pudding had been left out a long time and not really edible but plenty of other things to choose from. Did not encounter many staff except at reception - they wanted to allow for extra £50 a night to be charged to credit cars for drinks - I asked for this not to be done and then had to pay cash for drinks - first time I have come across that method but I suppose it helps them as fewer people absconding without paying!

Flies in my room, an iron which almost ruined my shirt, staff generally friendly if a bit feckless/incompetent. Hotel dated and can't believe its not double glazed. Lifts were a joke and parking charges ridiculous. Leisure area a throwback to the 70s (with the exception of the gym) don't go here with high expectations as you may be disappointed

I got married in this hotel last November. I stayed the night before my wedding in this hotel with my cousins.Its was quite a nice place to relax with heavenly bed and nice food.The staff members were always polite and very helpful.

2 night stay for business. Room was fairly standard. Executive lounge not particularly impressive but open 24hrs which is a plus.

I eat in the bar on one night - Caesar Salad was frankly just bizarre, requested anchovies, got chicken and mountains of cheese - certainly not Parmesan, more like weirdly processed Mozarella all slathered in a dressing that was more Heinz salad cream than Caesar.

All staff very pleasant.
