I stayed here for one night as I was attending a 40th birthday party locally. I found reviews on another site that said it had loud music at weekends but wasn't too concerned as I knew I would be back very late.

When I arrived the reception area was a little odd but the young staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The room itself was quite small (it was a single room) but it was very well furnished and had an ensuite with shower. The whole room looked as though it had recently been done up and was very clean.

When I arrived back at 1.30am the music downstairs was still in full swing and the place was packed. I went up to bed and could still hear the music!

At breakfast the next morning it seemed to be very busy with Race goers and Sky News was on the TV (a little loud for my liking but I was hungover). The food looked good but I just couldn't face it.

All in all a good, cheap, place to lay your head, especially if you can sleep through anything like me!

Hotel is on a busy road. If you have a room at the front of the hotel you will not get much sleep. I stayed mid-week, beware weekends as the bar downstairs has live bands and loud music at the weekends.

Bar food was reasonable and a good price.

Accommodation was passable, but the bed was very well used and need replacing.

Avoid if you want a good night's sleep. Probably OK if you want to crash out after a heavy night in the town.
