“Outstanding comfort and attention to detail”

This is an excellent barn conversion and a truly pleasant place to stay. Superbly clean and well organised. Beds are very comfortable, shower spacious and plenty of hot water, useful small fridge for milk and drinks discretely kept in the room. The owners took very good care of us without ever being intrusive or overwhelming, which can be a problem in some B&B's. We stayed two nights and had great breakfasts both days, and evening meals in a local restaurant - the Plough - which had kept all of the charm of its previous existence as a pub. Also, when the vehicle carrying our horses had a problem starting, we were given some very effective help - see picture!

“wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Beautiful coverted barn. Buiilding only surpassed by quality of breakfast and thoughtful host. Small things go a long way, like fresh milk in room fridge for the coffee....and a selection of wine there in the fridge too....not typical for a UK B&B!

“Fantastic stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

With friends, we booked all available rooms for 3 nights, it was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable and the breakfast was delightful. We would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay.

“Luxury B&B, Cyclist friendly, ideally suited for Ickneild Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2011

I stayed in this B&B while cycling the Ickneild Way. This B&B is outstanding and better than many 4 star hotels that I have stayed in. My twin room was huge and fitted to a very high quality as was the large bathroom with a massive high quality shower. Breakfast was also excellent with a god choice of dishes. My bike was also taken good care of being locked away safely throughout my stay. Ashly is a delightful village and the B&B is less than 100M from the village green.

I highly recommend eating at the Old Plough which is 200M away, The food and service are excellent. Turn up early or book in advance as it was heaving when I ate with people travelling from as far as Newmarket on a Thursday evening.

The only minor problem was that I am a very light sleeper and was woken up a couple of times by the fridge.
