Iit was so wonderful to stay in one of the best hotels in Bury St Edmunds. From the moment I walked in, I relaxed. The room was lovely, the service was attentive and the dinner was great. As for the breakfast? It was, honestly, the best breakfast ever! No, really! This hotel is a real find. Unless, of course, you like bland, homogenous hotels with bland, homogenous service. If so, this isn't for you. But if you like individuality, style and good old-fashioned service, then stay at The Grange Hotel, Bury St Edmunds.

Where to start. I write this review some 10 months after the event.

My wife and i decided to get married at the grange, mainly as we loved the location for photos, and the member of staff we initally spoke with was very helpful. But thats where the good points end. From the moment they had our deposit we found them disorganised, unhelpful and seemingly forgetful! If i went through all the issues we had i'd be here all day, but in short my wife was in tears on a few occasions due to thier incompitance. On the day the food was sub standard, and not as we had taste tested, the staff looked scruffy, they forgot to action things we wanted done on the day, everything ran late, the bridal suite was not clean.... The list goes on... Then they had the audasity to charge us for 'damage' after the wedding due to a stamp sized piece of wallpaper being ripped!!!

We still had a lovely day, but that was down to our guests. AVOID.

Attended a 50th wedding anniversary there and it was brilliantly organised from start to finish. Lovely family run hotel with g8 attention to detail. Also got the opportunity to see their log cabins which were very nicely done and overlooked the beautiful gardens. Will definitely b visiting again.

Disappointing main course, ordered turkey - they served turkey roll!
Tables left on dance floor caused insufficient dance area for the evening
