The bathroom was filthy with blood and hairs smeared on the walls. We stayed for 2 nights and due to arriving late on the first night we did not notice until the following morning. Despite bringing this to their attention in the morning and asking if they could give it a good clean it was apparent that it was obviously too much trouble as the vile stuff was still firmly in place after the room had been 'cleaned'.

Oh, and if you were hoping for a hot meal you should note that the restaurant / cafe has long since closed down.

All I can say in summary is AVOID staying there!

Following our stay I reported the incident to the company's website providing a photo. Sadly we just received a standard reply that it is not up to their usual standard and it was a bit galling that they said that we should have reported it to the reception! I feel very let down by Travelodge and will not be travelling with them again after this experience and lack of putting right when had given them the chance to do so.

Just stayed at the Sedgefield in room 2 (family room) ground floor.
Staff were very helpful, gave two travel cots, extra pillows and towels. Room was very clean and big enough to house my husband, teenager, two babies and myself for two nights. Room had Flat screen TV, Kettle and good heating. Next door is a petrol station. Great value for money would stay again if in the area

Warm & friendly welcome at reception, prompt and efficient book in. Staff had good knowledge of area. Room warm and clean. Staff recommended restaurant for evening meal. Dun Cow in Sedgefield, good value and easy to find. Breakfast at Aubergine Cafe excellent value. All within walking distance, but we took the car.

We use this Travelodge to visit family nearby. Whilst I would never pay the full rate the discounted prices are real bargains. A recent refurb has smartened the place up, but its still very basic. We have always found it to be clean and staff will provide additional towels, hair drier etc, when asked.
Sedgefield is only a short walk away. It boasts a good range of pubs (with real ale), some very nice eating places, together with the usual "take aways". All you need for a good night out !
Register with Travelodge and book as soon as the cheap rooms are released.
