This was emergency accomodation for us following a fire at home, we should have stayed longer but we made our excuses the following morning and moved to another hotel.

Rooms seemed to be in a 1960's time warp, tiny, old fashioned, the walls were so thin I could hear my son breathing in the next room (which I admit was a comfort following him being in a bad fire experience), but not what you want when I stanger is next door.

I would say it is more suited to contractors, in fact they were the only people we saw at breakfast, loads of men with hi viz jackets on.

Staff friendly enough but oh no, never again.

Restaurant was shut for refurb so cannot comment on that, breakfast so so.

We visit Stoke once a year and after finding the Haydon would never stay anywhere else. Dinner in the evening is always a mouthwatering experience, the menu offers plenty of choice. The breakfast is excellent ,again the choice is wide. True the decor in the bedrooms is dated.but the service is always friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed at the Haydon House hotel for a friends wedding that was held there. Although the overall experience was good, it wasnt astounding.
We phoned up in the morning to see what time we could check in. They told us 2pm, which was when the wedding started. So we waited. When we arrived, our friends had already checked in before the wedding. So we were told 2 different things.
The hotel is very old fashioned but quaint at the same time. The rooms are a normal size, but not wonderfully decorated. However the provision in the room were of good quality.
The wedding itself was lovely and the food was okay, but quite basic. (not sure what award they're supposed to have won!)
The bar was very small for such a large wedding and hence they ran out of a number of types of drinks throughout the evening, including drinks that only one or two people were having. You'd have thought they'd keep spare bottles in stock.
Breakfast the next day was very nice, and there was plenty of choice.
For the price, this is a bit of a bargain hotel and is close to Stoke, Newcastle and Hanley. Although you will need a car to get here, or a taxi.

This was a dreadful experience. They advertised as pet friendly. What they meant was that you could have dogs iny our room when you were there.

They also said that they had won awards for their food. The service was terrible, the food was unimaginitive and the portions were small.
