To add to that, it was so nice to come back of an evening and just relax with a bottle of wine with other guests in the lounge and relax.

Jed is great, in fact that's the main reason for booking it in the first place as the wife loves dogs (that and the great reviews)

As already mentioned, breakfast is excellent, one of the best I have had.

The only downside was that the room we stayed in had a bath, which I asked for, but no shower over it. I was informed of this but it would be a nice addition as some people like baths (as in the missus) and some like shower (me) and one other thing is that the curtains could do with some backing for those that do not wish to be waken at dawn.

Look forward to returning maybe next year.

We visit Townsend Farmhouse every year when we come over to the Dunster Country Fair to demonstrate birds of prey. We always receive a very warm welcome from Nick Melissa and Jed the dog! First class accommodation and breakfasts to die for!. (Chris & Dougy -Hawkeye)

We arrived in rain, but Nick was there to help with the luggage and we were whisked inside to the comfortable sitting room and a very welcome cup of tea along with our introduction to Jed. Our en suite room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had some concerns about traffic noise, but this was not a problem despite being on the A39. Breakfasts were excellent, I think between us we tried all combinations and enjoyed them all, especially the american omelettes. The location is an ideal base for exploring, in addition there is a wealth of choice for eateries, from the 'chips with everything' to high end dining and all those in between, without having to travel too far.

Nick and Melinda are a delightful couple who enjoy welcoming guests and Jed just adds that little something extra.
