“Spectacular medieval place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

The owner is very friendly, helpful and looks after your every whim. The building is like a theatre set and the master bedroom steeped in history as is the whole building. The 4 poster bed was luxurious and we slept like 2 logs. Breakfast was very good. A great antidote to the sterility of budget chains like Travelodge.

Room Tip: Master bedroom is quite something.

“Medieval Dunster & a fab stay at the Old Priory!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

The Old Priory has a tremendous amount of history. Look at the name for a start. The B&B is one of THE best we have stayed at. Comfortable rooms, one even with a four poster bed. Lots of hot water! A decent breakfast that sets you up for the day, with a choice of cereals, fruit & yogurt and for those hungry and ready for the meal of the day, a large English breakfast. The Host has funny stories to share and is very accommodating. The dogs will share their love with you or just sit on their chairs - very sweet. They are not burden to any guest. A worth while stay to explore this lovely village. We have been visiting since 2003, so there must be something in the water that keeps bringing us back!

“The Old Priory is absolutely perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

11th of of 12 B&Bs in Dunster? Ridiculous. The Old Priory is absolutely perfect. The room was fantastic, the bed supremely comfortable and the breakfasts some of the best I've ever had (thick slices of bacon, properly cooked mushrooms and eggs freshly delivered each morning). If you're offended by dogs slumbering on the chairs next to the fireplace or prefer easy-wipe veneer to beautiful period furniture, then I'm sure there's a travel lodge somewhere that will meet your requirements. We, on the other hand, left wondering how many aged relatives we'd have to auction off in order to live there permanently.

“Not what we expected”

The stay was dissapointing - accommodation very old and did not feel comfortable. Dogs sitting on chair in room next to breakfast table.

“My favorite B&B ever”

I love this place. From the charming yard with its old apple trees and benches, to the old priory building itself it was magical! The rooms are all different and full of interesting stuff. The innkeeper and her friends and her funny dogs are perfectly wonderful. Can I live here?!
