It was pleasant, breakfast was good. Our room was a little dated but nevertheless very clean and very warm (it was exceptionally cold weather when we stayed).
It was much too far to walk into Bath - a good 20 minutes and uphill on the way back. We were told to catch a taxi back - but when we have stayed in Bath before we've always been within a 10 minute walk of the town centre - just been able to leave car at B & B and not worry about taxis or car parking fees. We paid the same as if we were actually staying near the town centre which I think was bad value - this B & B was definitely on the outskirts of the town centre and the price should reflect this.

We at Lavender House are very sorry that you found us to be too far out of the City for your liking however we state very clearly that we are a twenty minute walk to the city on our web-site. We do this to give people the option of booking closer to the City if they wish. Many of our guests appreciate the quiet that our conservation area gives being out of the city. Buses run every 15 minutes from the end of the road which is a 2 minute walk. We offer Taxi's as an option and explain that we personally walk in and take a Taxi back. We apologise if you felt you were told to take a Taxi.

It would be appreciated if you could let us know what room you stayed in and what you felt we could do to update. We also pride ourselves on offering top quality service therefore any comment directly to us on how you felt we could improve would be of great help.

We chose Lavender House after looking at some of the reviews on the website and we were not disappointed!!
On arrival we were greeted by Bilie and were shown to the fabulous Blue Room, beautifully furnished and with the largest en-suite bathroom i have seen in a B&B.
Billie was able to give us information on getting around and also recommended a wonderful restaurant for that evening, she even made the reservation, (Menu Gordon Jones in Bath...Excellent!!)
The B&b is situated at the top of a hill, but the walk down is pleasant, you can catch the 14A bus from the bus station back home if you cant face the hill (the stop is hatfield road).
The house itself is beautiful, spotless and well appointed. it was truly the worlds comfiest bed. It was also a real boost having a bath as well as a shower, especially as the weather was so cold when we visited.
the breakfast is superb and a full array is offered along with billie's New Zealand Marmite (yummy!!)
Kevin and Billie ( not forgetting Roger and Penny dogs) will offer you excellent and genuine hospitality, in a wonderful house.
This truly is a lovely place to stay and i would recommend with no hesitation.
Room Tip: the Blue room was lovely and warm, has a massive en suite and a really comfy bed.

Fabulous views from the four poster room.
Peaceful, very clean and fabulous top quality breakfast.
Very good value. Highly recommended.
Room Tip: Front rooms have the best views.

“A superb second stay!”
We first stayed in Lavender House in 2010 and our second visit lived up to our already high expectations! Once again, our weekend break was perfect thanks to Kevin and Billie. This place is a great find which we will definitely be visiting again and recommending it to all our friends.

“WOW...Superb,the best”
Beautiful,tastefully decorated home ,loved the size of the bedroom,spacious,separate toilet and bath/ shower room.Comfortable bed and quality linen.Lavender House is a 15 min walk to the town centre,Breakfast was tops,tasty.
.Billie and Kevin made my stay very relaxing, and helped me organise a rental car, Wonderful couple.Thanks heaps for a great stay ,Helen
