I had a week with John & Iris at the Cheriton and cannot thank them highly enough for the warm and welcome stay. They kept me filled in on what was happening in Bath and recommended some great places to eat.

The room was a nice single room off the garden. It was clean and comfortable. The shower room was small but worked well. The room had a window and patio doors leading to the gardens. The room was well stocked with lovely toiletries, Tea, coffee, chocolate, mints etc.

Breakfast was fantastic. A table full of muesli, cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts & fresh fruit juices. All of which were great, but if you want a full english, then you need to try it here. Everything was fresh, quality produce and beautifully cooked by Iris. This was served with fresh toast, tea or coffee.

The location is about a mile from the city centre and it is all uphill.

Overall a first rate experience that was made even better by the warm homely welcome.

My partner and I recently visited Bath for the Christmas Markets; we stayed at the Cheriton which is owned by John and Iris Chiles. This was our second visit to Bath this year and we stayed here both times. It is a wonderful guest house, with warm and friendly hospitality, very clean and comfortable rooms, excellent service and excellent food. The guest house is beautifully decorated and you are made to feel very much at home.
We will definitely be staying here again and would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wishing to visit Bath.

We really enjoyed staying here. Cheriton House is a really handsome old house ,beautifully maintained and very warm and comfortable. It's a 15 minute walk down the hill into the town centre but there are lots of taxis for the journey back. We stayed in the suite on the top (2nd) floor which was very roomy (large bedroom plus separate sitting room with sofa and large tv) and spotlessly clean. The place runs like clockwork (the owners clearly know what they're about) and there are some really thoughtful touches - books and dvds plus bowls of sweets in the room. I've previously stayed at the Royal Crescent when in Bath, which is lovely but very expensive. I'd rather stay here!

(If I were being super-picky it would be nice to have a king-sized bed in the room - but on the other hand the beds were very comfortable so no complaints).
