“Excellent value, nice B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2008

Loveley large Family run B&B on the main rd on the outskirts of Bath & on the main Bus route to the City Centre (£2.05 e.w.). If you walk to the Royal Cresent & around it to the end, then down to the main rd & turn right you have a nice walk back to the Hotel (20 min's) & a saving, I am a Yorkshireman remember.
Our room was on 1st floor facing the rear garden, so no road noise at all & we slept like log's.Nice large room with ensuite & lovely & warm, with a TV/VCR & even a number of books to read, which was very thoughtful. Also the entire room & property was as clean as a whistle.
Julie, the owner, was very helpful & obliging, giving us directions to an excellent & cheap Indian Restaurant, also allowing us to leave our car parked at her premises until we returned to leave at 2pm, this helped greatly as getting round & parking in Bath is horrendous. The Breakfast was excellent, with Fresh fruit salad, various cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, dried fruit & nut's, Full English Breakfast or any variation of it, Kippers, Smoked Salmon & on, together with every type of preserve & I don't know how many types of Tea. Only reason it wasn't an "Excellent" all round was, the cat's wandering in & out front for food & upstairs, also a dog basket in kitchen doorway at breakfast, which can be a little off putting.

  • Liked — Large & cosy, comfortable large bedroom & breakfast, which would have fed Grissly Adam's
  • Disliked — pet's clearly about & on view, which can be unhygenic.

“Very cute b&b”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2008

In my opinion it's a very nice place to stay. The host, Clive, gave us a nice welcome and was very helpful regarding any questions hot get around the city. The breakfast was ok, you can get full english breakfast, scrambled eggs etc.
Our room was small but cozy, with a double bed, tv +video player (you can get a good selection of movies downstairs), books. The bathroom was very small, the washbasin was in the bedroom, not in the bathroom. Generally the room was clean. We had 4 big pillows and 2 small ones. Clean sheets.
The only thing I din't like was that the heating turned off at night at it got quite cold for me.
There is no curfew. The carpark is very small, you can park on the street as well.
I would recommend this B&B.

  • Liked — nice atmosphere
  • Disliked — small carpark, heating turned off at night

“Good option for the lower budget”

If you don't expect too much of your B&B, this is a good choice. It's not all that expensive, the rooms are clean (though rather old fashioned), there's a television + videoplayer and the place itself is well located if you don't mind taking a bus (too far to walk into town). There's a couple of parking spaces in front of the hotel as well. Breakfast was okay.
