I have just returned from trip to Europe. Travelling mostly around the United Kingdom. Stayed at the Edgar Townhouse for three nights. I have to thank other trip advisor reviewers for finding this place. The location was excellent, an easy walk from the train station, even with heavy suitcases. Every place of interest, Bath Cathedral, the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent, the Thermal Spas, Pulteney bridge all within walking distance. The accommodation itself, I cannot fault, the room was clean, (and my travelling companion who is a clean freak even gave it her tick of approval), a generous size, could move around room without crashing into suitcases and furniture. The bathroom too was a good size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the lady on reception (who unfortunately I did not get her name) she helped to carry bags up the stairs to our room, and generally was helpful with information on places to eat and places to visit. Breakfast too was generous and tasty, with option of continental and full english. The hotel also offers discounted vouchers to the thermal spa if you book directly through their web site. Bath is definitely a must visit city and the people are the friendliest I have encountered in the UK quick to help if you look lost, and every shop or cafe I went into the staff were friendly and chatty. Make sure you go to thermal spas, the roof top pool, has fantastic view of bath, and don't miss the steam rooms, very therapeutic. Make sure you have a meal at Jamie Oliver's italian restaurant.
Room Tip: As for room not facing street, if you want a good nights sleep, not traffic noise, but noisy pedestr...
