“A Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had a lovely weekend in that hotel. The place is really charming, with clean bedrooms, comfortable beds, a modern and very nice little bathroom with good shower, also a nice set to make tee or hot chocolate (very appreciable when you come back from a long day sightseeing!). The sitting room of the hotel feels comfy, you can stay there for tee or to read the newspaper after breakfast. There is also a free access computer connected to internet that turned out to be really handy! Breakfast was good, with a surprisingly wide choice for such a reasonable price. And finally the staff is really helpful, indicating places to visit, giving you maps of the area and advice on where to eat or have coffee. The location is also really nice, in a quiet area but close to town so that you can walk there easily (especially if you find the small staircase going down to the river quicker than the main road). Definitely a place we'd go back to if we ever go back to Bath!

“comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Oldfields is a small comfortable hotel just 10 minutes walk from the centre of bath. Everything was spotlessly clean, with large modern bedrooms and a cosy welcoming lounge. Breakfast was very good and all the staff were welcoming and friendly.

“Exquisite Guesthouse - Wonderful stay in Bath”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My partner & I travelled to Bath in between Christmas & New Year - having only decided about a month beforehand. We googled Guesthouses in the area and stumbled across Oldfields. We arrived at a beautiful, original "bath stone" residence, with parking - went in and were met by a lovely young lady who signed us in and sat with us for 15 minutes going over the best places to visit, eat & see - this was invaluable as we had not been to Bath before and wanted to make the most of our visit.

The room was gorgeous - high ceiling with a gorgeous big window and fireplace. The en suite was clean & tidy with all the mod cons - the shower was amazing! The bed was enormous and really comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

The guesthouse is approximately 10 minutes walk down the hill and under the railway bridge to the town centre - which is packed with things to do, places to see and amazing shops.

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time in Bath and wouldn't hesitate at booking to stay at Oldfields on future visits.

“Wonderful hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed for a 3 nights in December 2011. We were greeted with hot mulled wine and mince pies. The room was lovely with Molten Brown products in the bathroom. The car park is slightly difficult to manouver into and you need to be alert for the entrance from the main road. We left the car parked and walked into the city centre every day, a 10-15 minute walk downhill. There is a large variety of resturants within easy reach, we tried Thai, Mongolian and French during out stay. A range of DVD's were available in the room free of charge. The breakfast's were huge, full English, thick slices of smoken salmon and scrambled eggs, a veggie option with a large selection of fruits, yogurts, juices and sparking Cava (for making a Bucks Fizz to start the day!!!). Found it very useful never having to use the car, although after 3 nights of freezing temperatures outside and parking at a sloping angle in the carpark, my car wouldn't start. The owner helped me jump start the car using his, which saved a lot of hassle getting the AA. Highly recommended and would definately stay again.
