Although Haydon House is spotless and the food was ok I don't feel it deserves its 5*. The room was quite dated in decor, not what you expect from 5* and we chose the luxury suite too! The breakfast, however, was the biggest disappointment. There was bowls of tinned fruit and cereals in Tupperware containers, these were not known brands by the taste of them. The full English included two rashers of bacon, one sausage, an egg and one mushroom cut into four pieces!! One round of toast was offered to each guest and there was no butter in sight - only cheap and nasty margarine together with awful jam and marmalade that tasted of nothing but sugar.
Although the owner was very hospitable I feel she needs to give value for money with the food, we paid £95 per night and stayed for two nights, this is not cheap by B & B prices and I would not recommend this place to friends
