“The perfect B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We had a great weekend here in January 2012. Even though Bath was empty as it was just after Christmas, this guest house was still booked out. The rooms are huge, the breakfast brilliant, and the hosts very welcoming- Wolfgang even brought our cases down to the station for us so we didn't have to make the trip back after our day out. A perfect B&B I'd say. Highly recommended.

This bed and breakfast was amazing. Very clean, great breakfast, and our host was full of useful knowledge. On my next trip to Bath this is where I will be staying.

“Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at Athole Guest House for four nights in August 2011. It was a wonderful place to stay; Josephine and Wolfgang were very welcoming. The house is close enough to town walk, but removed enough that the neighborhood is quiet. It is about a 15 minute walk to town and the way back is uphill (which is fine with us; helped us burn off all those scones and clotted cream). We didn't have a car while in Bath, but it would work well for someone that did. The house was in excellent condition and the room very was clean and comfortable (we stayed in Burney). Breakfast was divine, but my favorite dish was the banana chocolate chip pancakes. Athole House is hands down one of the best places I've ever stayed, period. Heartily recommended!

The Athole was by far the best accommodation we had in 5 weeks touring the UK. This large home was in excellent condition. Wolfgang was a tremendous host (unfortunately, his wife was away the night we stayed) and a real professional. The only time we saw any other staff was at breakfast which was a real feast. The choices and quality available exceeded our expectations. This place sets the benchmark for B&Bs.

Room Tip: Book early. I have recommended Athole to 2 other Australian couples and it was booked out on the nig...

“Just lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

There's not really much more I can add to all the previous glowing reports.
The Athole is in a great location, within walking distance of everything yet really peaceful and quiet. Wolfgang and Josephine gave us a warm welcome and a birthday card and a gift was left in our room for my boyfriend who had celebrated his birthday the day before; a very kind and unexpected gesture.
The rooms have everything you would need and more and the bed was really comfy, I wish mine was like it! Breakfast was just lovely. So much choice, most of which is homemade, and all locally sourced.
Wolfgang recommended a lovely restaurant to us (The Circle) and I suggest taking his advice if he makes any recommendations to you!
We arranged a morning at the Thermae Spa via Wolfgang who kindly dropped us off at the Spa and then collected our wet things afterwards so that we didn't need to lug them around all day. We used the robes, towels and slippers provided by Wolfgang and Josephine which are far superior to the ones the Spa provide.
A lovely stay, thank you very much!
