“Cute building, good location and excellent breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed 1 night in the 'Elgar' Room, (the cheapest one). It is a very cute room, very clean and lovely furnishings but very small. It had a nice view of Bath from the window. Comfortable bed. The bathroom is also very nice but too small. [One suggestion for the management would be to have a shelf in the shower so that you can put your soap on it, and to have a tissue box in the room].
The lady owner was friendly and helpful.
The location is good- you can walk to Bath and since you can't park your car in Bath, you can leave your car at the B+B. Warning, it is on the hill and so you have to walk back up the hill on the way back and the parking is very steep.
Travel Tip: there is a free 2 hour walking tour of Bath which is worth doing, but make sure you have good walking shoes.
The full english breakfast was delicious and was a highlight! I would come back just for the breakfast. The breakfast room is gorgeous.
It's not the cheapest place to stay but a very pleasant stay, just wished the room was a bit larger, and loved the breakfast!

Room Tip: If you have a bit of money to spend, choose a larger room.

“A relaxing couple of days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Just got back from a couple of nights stay at the Dorian, perfectly placed about 10 mins walk into Bath. We had a room at the front of the hotel with lovely views across Bath, room very clean and comfortable, breakfast was like a 3 course meal . . . full cooked breakfast (and veggie option), yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, cheese, pastries, croissant, toast, scrambled egg and salmon and porridge with a tot of whiskey were all on the menu, so many decisions. Would recommend and return to this hotel.

“Walm welcome, perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here for 1 night in the 'Tallis' room, which was on the top floor and had stunning views over Bath. The room itself was a fantastic space, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the owners were very accommodating. Would not hesitate in returning and recommending to others.

“What a wonderful place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We were in Bath ten years ago for our first weekend away together, we have just returned for our honeymoon! For this visit we wanted accommodation that was luxurious but not an anonymous hotel, spacious and no more than ten mins walk into the centre of Bath. Dorian House ticked all these boxes and more. A beautiful building, with parking, with a view back to the Royal Crescent. The welcome was lovely, we forgot to take the details and had to ring for directions, they got us there quick! Robert was very helpful with local maps, things to do and restaurants. The house is grand and beautifully decorated. A classical music theme throughout due to the owner's cellist background, very tasteful and not at all overwhelming. We were in tallis room on the top floor, when booking I was talked through the different rooms and chose this one for the views from the top floor, and the cosiness of being in the eaves. The bed was huge and one of the comfiest ever. It was very private as well. The only down sides I could think of was no lift if you can't get up stairs easily and one or two bumps on the head of the beams in our room. However neither of these was an issue for us and after one night we were due to stay three nights but we booked a fourth we liked it so much.
Another bonus of this guest house is the bar, it is not open late but great for a pre dinner drink in the lounge or an early night cap. The breakfast is also wonderful, large varied buffet table and hot breakfast cooked to order. All fantastic quality, cooked brilliantly and served by attentive smiling staff, a lovely way to start the day. We would have preferred a 10am finish time but 9.30 is not so bad. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely return, hopefully it won't be ten years before we can! Special thanks to Robert and Lesley for being so helpful and very friendly hosts that really added to our stay. P.S there is no pool here but i can't de select my rating below pressed by mistake!

Room Tip: Ring and ask, rooms vary with views, four posters etc

“Little Gem of a hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Stayed for 1 night and were given an upgrade to 4 poster bedroom.Beautiful room overlooking garden, bedlinen white and crisp, towels in very modern bathroom white and fluffy. The bed a bit too soft for my liking. We were given a very warm welcome by the staff and info on Bath itself. Beautiful dinining conservatory for breakfast which was wonderful, large choice for continental breakfast with fresh fruit etc. and a very tasty English breakfast too. Free Wifi in our room. We would definately return. Around a 10 minute walk (partly downhill) into Bath itself. Wish we had stayed longer, loved the Roman Baths and the shops!

Room Tip: Overlooking the garden
