The communal areas are rather basic. Our room was rather small and the ensuite was extremely small. The furniture and TV were fine but the matress was rather soft and you could feel the springs. There were only instant coffee and frilly teas in the room: no breakfast tea.
There was not one but two notices advising that the establishment cared about the earth's resources, but the radiator valve was broken and the room was hot so we opened the window letting heat out and there was no plug in the sink so gallons of water flowed down the drain. Service was good. Breakfast was not included so got something down town.

My husband booked this as a treat for my birthday. I nearly cried when we were shown into the family room, which was the only one available. Whilst the bed was comfy enough and the bathroom fine (hot water worked unlike some other reports), There was damaged paint on the walls, the bed was up against the wall so you couldn't walk round it, this is NOT the standard expected for such a price.

When was it last decorated for heaven's sake? The furniture was a mish-mash of junk shop quality stuff which was outdated even in the 80s!

If you know the programme Father Ted, this is where Father Jack's chair came to live. After seeing this, i couldn't bring myself to eat breakfast so we paid to go to the excellent Patisserie Valerie opposite the Bath Covered Market. The lounge had chairs arranged around the walls like an old people's home and who would want to sit in an upholstered chair after seeing the one on the photo!

It's about time management took note of all these poor reviews and not be so defensive. The reviews are not all wrong. Get decorating, spend some money or put the prices down to hostel type ones! People are disappointed when being ripped off.

Location is the best thing this hotel has to offer. Very shaky four poster bed with net curtains, intermittent hot water, no bath in the room we stayed in, overpriced, no socket anyhwere near the tea making facility in that we had to put the kettle on the floor to boil, very much a bedsit room. Not sure where the photos were taken but didn't see anything that I recognised so it must have been elsewhere.

I am staggered at the response of the Management.If our room was newly refurbished god help the others - I can only guess that the 'designer' used was more Stevie Wonder than Kim and Aggie or homes and gardens. Would he care to explain why he would assume that my sighting of asian staff would lead me to report that the place STANK of last weeks curry. I am not a racist or a moaner. The place was dirty smelly and over priced. I would love to get my hands on the place. It could with a little care and the right management attitude indeed be a lovely place. Do yourself a favour and check your room before you sign on the dotted line or ideally just DONT BOTHER GOING TO THIS HOTEL. Well travelled individual who has never stayed in such a revolting place. Been back to bath twice since and both times stopped in far nicer, far cheaper places where the owners are proud of what they provide, and don't hide every time a complaint needs to be made. That is why no one complains to the management - they won't face anybody!!!!!!
