“Superb location. Nice hotel. Perfect for a city break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Lovely hotel just a few minutes from the city centre. Small but comfortable room with great bed and a hot powerful shower - the two things needed for me to be happy with a hotel! Wifi wasn't good and the BBC channels on the tv were on the fritz, but didn't bother saying anything as we were only there for the one night. We paid £99 for the night, which is a little steep when you add £8 for parking and £6 for a cooked breakfast each (only toast and cereal included in the room price), but I guess you're paying for the location. Having said that, we could have stayed at the Hilton for only a few pounds more and that's even closer to the centre.

Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and made the most of our central location. You note that you experienced problems with the free wifi, we have recently had our system upgraded, so weak signals should no longer be a problem. I will look into the fuzzy BBC channel as all TV's are new and have integrated free view channels, I'm sure this is not a common problem but apologise never the less.
I was surprised to hear that you thought £99 was a little steep for a double room in the city centre, feedback is normally to the contrary, with guests pleasantly surprised at the low rates for such good and attentive service, combined with our fabulous location.
We charge parking at £8 per day, metered parking costs £2 per hour and most hotels charge significantly more!
We have gained a breakfast award for the choice, presentation and service of our breakfasts, the a la carte is an extra £6 but well worth it for the delicious kippers, full english or eggs benedict to name but a few. I am sorry you did not chose to enjoy the full selection of the continental breakfast, which is included in your room rate. Not just toast and cereal, but a selection of juices, croissants, natural and fruit yogurts, homemade fruit compote, grapefruit, a choice of cereals and museli, as well as tea and coffee.

“Very Happy with stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The windsor is in a beautiful part of Bath, and is also a Beautiful house as it is, There is a lot of character in the house, and very warm and welcoming feel, All the staff were very friendly helpful, The room itself was layed out nicely and was not overcrowded with pointless things.
I was very happy with my stay plan to stay there again in the future and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We had the Victoria Room which is on the top(3rd) floor, it was very quiet, nice view, and you could...

Thank you for your review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and plan to return one day- it will be lovely to have you back. Our staff pride themselves in their great attitude to help and advise guests whenever they can and this contributes to the homely feel. We are happy you liked your room, it is a favourite of mine too, so romantic with the demi- coaster above the bed and as you said, very quiet. We hope you had a good journey home, see you soon.

“Warm welcome on a snowy weekend at ideally situated guest house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

A short walk from The Windsor gets you into the very centre of Bath and all of its attractions. Although we did not spend too much time at the hotel as we wanted to make the most of the city , the bedroom was a good size, with a very comfortable, spacious bed and was well equipped including a rather excellent flatscreen TV for catching the morning repeat of MOTD while my wife was in the shower.
Breakfast was great with a good selection of a la carte. The bacon was the highlight. Only quibble would be that at the price we paid for the room it would be better to include a cooked breakfast option in the room cost.
The staff were informative and friendly throughout our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Windsor. All comments are taken seriously. We are so pleased you liked the property, the location, your room, the flat screen TV and our great staff. I am also very pleased you found the breakfast enjoyable, especially the bacon, which we source locally and is prepared and delivered by our local butcher.

“fantastic location lovely staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed in The Windsor for three nights, staff were lovely very helpful. The location is perfect for most major tourist attractions took me less than ten minutes to get to any destination. I traveled solo so was in a single room on the third floor, the stairs are hardwork! no lift as this is a listed building but I was aware of that when I booked the room. The room was small but comfortable with all the usual equipment supplied. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't supply you with a flannel and call it a towel! Breakfast was the normal cereal/toast the croissants I enjoyed, there was a very tempting upgrade available for breakfast which sounded very appetizing but I never got round to trying it. All in all I like this hotel if I stay in Bath again I will be phoning here first,

Room Tip: Third floor only if your fit with little luggage other than that superb

“Comfortable and full of character”

I was looking for a comfortable place to stay for a week in Bath, near the centre of the city. I wanted somewhere that reflected Bath's history, so I decided against staying in a modern, anonymous hotel and chose the Windsor Guest House. And I wasn't disappointed! (Four minutes' walk takes you right into the heart of Bath.) When booking, I asked for a quiet room, and that is exactly what they gave me. It was a superior double room and was at the very top of the house. It was charmingly decorated and furnished, with a very nice en-suite bathroom. It had everything I needed - two armchairs, a desk, free wifi, a television, air conditioning, iron, hairdryer, and a kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.

The Windsor Guest House is a Grade I listed building, in what I have seen described as one of the most beautiful and imposing boulevards in Europe, and there are plenty of architectural details to admire, such as the fantastic plasterwork around the ceilings downstairs and the lovely staircase. I loved being in such beautiful Georgian surroundings.

The breakfasts are delicious, and especially the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, which I was in danger of becoming addicted to. The staff are friendly and helpful, there is a nicely relaxing atmosphere, and my entire stay was delightful. Would I go back? You bet!

What a lovely review, thank you so much. I remember this lady very well, she was a joy to have stay with us and she was addicted to the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! I am delighted that she chose to stay with us rather than some modern, anonymous chain which could have been anywhere. We would welcome you back with open arms and thanks again for the delicious bread which my husband devoured the same day!
