We were booked into this hotel as a promotion by Seasons for 4 nights. As per a previous review, we were in one of the tiny rooms on the top floor. A double bed had been squeezed into it, and you could just about walk around the bed! It really should have been a single room. The walls were very thin - we could hear the fan from the bathroom next door, and some of the conversations. There was a new en suite with an excellent shower.
The carpet throughout the stairs & landings was badly stained - a bad choice of fitting a light colour. The location of the hotel was excellent, overlooking the park & rugby club & about a 10 min walk to the attractions.
Unfortunately the weather was not so good, and the room was not comfortable to spend a long time in. The only place to sit was on the bed. So after 2 nights we were tired of bumping into each other all the time, and as no other rooms were available, we decided to leave and forego the other 2 nights. We understand that some refurbishment will take place shortly, but will not include making the top floor rooms any bigger. If we went again, we would ask for a first floor room at the back, as the traffic at the front could be heavy. We felt unwilling to use the lounge or conservatory, as there were always Seasons sales staff lurking waiting for a chance to pounce!
This hotel has so much potential and it is a pity it is not being maximised at present.
