We stayed here for two nights at the end of june we booked a standerd double room but for the rate of £110 plus vat per night wasn't expecting it to be a bad standerd it was the most basic hotel room i have ever stayed it looked like a students room, the decore was dreary and the furniture cheap, the bathroom just wasn't inviting and again done cheap. the room was very hot and the big window opened inwards so you could'nt have the curtains shut at the same time. on a good point the room was clean and the breakfast was good. some friends stayed here the same time as us they got a free upgrade and said they had a nice room, but the hotel was full and we could;nt upgrade. The hotel was in a good position and if you get a space in the car park don't come out as you won.t get in later our friends had to park in the supermarket car park. There are plenty of other nice places in ludlow and i would'nt stay at the feathers again, our room was 131

If you want to stay in a traditional type coaching inn in this area, the Feathers is a good choice. Lovely comfy beds, nice breakfast, friendly staff...and character to burn.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in March, 2009. It was absolutely lovely and the hotel staff could not have been nicer. Our room was, I believe, upgraded. The room, which even had a fireplace, was absolutely huge and well appointed. The bathroom was larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in. The full breakfast, which was included, was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is also only a short walk from the beautiful ruins of Ludlow Castle.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside and full of character on the inside. The breakfast was very good.

Now for the negatives: -

1) some members of staff gave the impression that they would rather be somewhere else.
2) the shower temperature and pressure varied from cold trickle to boiling monsoon.
3) we requested some loo roll which took three hours to materialise (on the 2nd time of asking)
4) we paid £130 for one nights B&B - this is too expensive for what's on offer.
