We went to eat at the Fox House given its not too far from where we live. We decided to go there rather than other local pubs for Sunday lunch. We arrived at 12:30 and as requeste by a sign "waited to be seated" we must have been waiting well over 5 minutes and a all the staff looked at us not one of them greeted or acknowledge us. Eventually we were told that we'd have to wait for a table by a very stern and unhappy chap who appeared to be the manager - like him all the staff at the bar were equally as pleasant ie they were not. It was like walking into a funeral the atmosphere was so poor.
Went to the toilet which were dirty and very, very smelly. Given we were there so soon after opening they need to sack the cleaner or invest in some bleach!
The area where we'd been asked to wait was tiny and could not cope with the amount of people waiting to eat, yet when we eventually we shown to our table 25 minutes later, there were many tables empty and which we're not reserved so why we were asked to wait in the bar area was beyond me.
The food was okay - nothing spectacular but adequate.
Our waitress was pleasant (Lucy) certainly in comparison to the others.
Overall the staff need to understand they work in the service industry and need to know how to engage with customers in a prodessional and happy manner or go and work in a funeral directors where they are more suited given their current dispositions.
