“Lovely!”

We chose this place based on Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. It is a real home from home for us and both the Victorian (us) and Fin du Siecle (our son) rooms were lovely (though I admit to "stealing" a shower in the Fin du Siecle as the Victorian only has a bath) with great views.
Now we will have associations with Sheffield for the next few years, we will definitely be staying again.
Be warned though - minimalist this is not - it is a house full of interesting artifacts.

“Quirky, Welcoming & Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

First, it is not right in the city centre - I suspect we'd have had difficulty finding Hardwick House without a car and sat-nav, or a very good map - and second, not everybody appreciates the virtues of a B&B like this. Otherwise we would never have been able to find a room here at late notice. So we should I suppose be grateful to Holiday Inn for catering to their own particular market.
Meanwhile the owners here clearly enjoy what they do and it shows in the details. Even their son seemed happy to be called from his bedroom in his dressing gown to explain to me how to work my new mobile phone. It is a proper B&B, it doesn't call itself a boutique hotel, and you know you're in someone else's home. The other reviews and Hardwick House's own website tell you what to expect. If that's what you want from a B&B you will certainly enjoy a visit.

“Great hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

i stayed at this B&B for a night and wished i could stay longer. its victorian theme gives it that homely feel, and the ensuit allows you the privacy. the lady there is very nice and keeps everything in tip top shape. the breakfast was nicely made and did have that greasy feel you get from cafes. overall i was happy with my stay and would recommend you stay here is your in that part of sheffield. i found it cold at times but definetly good value for money.

Room Tip: All the rooms i think are ensuite.

“So lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

Harwick house is such a lovely, comfortable place with some of the loveliest hosts I've ever met. Rooms are quiet and very nice and the breakfast is tasty. It is only a short taxi ride outside of the town center, but I took Mercury Taxi cabs while I was there and they were great as well: 01142662662 Very fast and kind drivers. I will definitely book in again at Hardwick House if I go back to Sheffield!

“Charming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

We stayed here to enjoy a night in Sheffield, booking at quite late notice. We stayed in the twin room at the front of the house. We found the B & B easily, and liked the location on a quiet cul-de-sac. When we found the B & B, we were a bit worried about the parking, but this did not prove to be a problem. The hosts are really charming as has been stated previously. The breakfast room is magnificent, and the landlady's breakfast quite perfect.

Our room had lots of character, with teddies and hot water bottles on the beds. I was a bit scared to sit on either of the chairs, a stool by the table and an old rocking chair. They did not look as if they would support the larger gentleman, so I sat on the beds, though I would have preferred something more comfortable that looked like it would not crumble under me.

We recommend this B & B and £59 for the two of us was a fair price. The B & B is handy for the Greystones, a new Thornbridge brewery pub which should not be missed by anyone with an interest in fine beer. Such people must (NOTE: not "SHOULD" but "MUST") also visit the Fat Cat and the Kelham Island Tavern in the Kelham Island area of central Sheffield.
