I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter and boyfriend who stayed there 28/01/11, as they were going to a concert at the stadium close by.
On arrival the hotel is a pub with rooms upstairs. We were shown to the room and when we got in there the stench of stale unrine eminating from the bathroom as unbearable. We were going shopping to meadowhall so while we were out bought some air freshner for when we returned.
The room itself was adequate with coffee/tea making facilities and a small TV, no window, just a skylight . The heating was on full and was unbearable and we could not open the skylight so we roasted all night.
On pulling the sheets back on the bed there was a couple of hairs in there, so abviously bedding must not have been changed.
When we got back to the hotel/pub after the concert we went straight upstairs as the bar was very busy, yes still very busy at 2AM when we were still sat there unable to sleep listening to some drunk on a karioki machine at 10,000 decibels in the bar downstairs.
We sprayed the air freshner in the bathroom to stop the stench of stale unrine, but it was too overpowering, I had to close the door and lodge a chair in front of the bathroom door so the stink would stay in there.
Breakfast in the morning consisted of us being sent next door to a cafe, nothing to do with the pub we stayed in.
We couldnt wait to leave....
It is a cheap place to stay near the stadium.... DONT BE TEMPTED !!!!!.

Stopped here with my girlfriend as we went to a concert and wanted a couple of drinks. Fantastic value at £25 for the room, clean and friendly plus nice beers. Would stay again.

we stayed for 1 night to take the osce exams the following morning. the hotel was quite and clean and staff very friendly. the food was fresh as it is cooked on requirement. the best thing about the Hotel is it is very close to the Don valley stadium where the exam was held. Unlike other hotels in the area ,the hotel allowed us to stay till 5pm. This meant unlike my other friends we were able to leave our luggage in our room while we took the exam and able to walk back to the hotel for a bite to eat and relax for the afternoon exams.
if you are coming for a conferance or exam to sheffield i would reccommend this hotel as it is good for cost and excellent for location. Thank you Don valley Hotel
